Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a real quick look at this Optronics Snap-On LED Light Strip Connector. Now, this LED light strip connector is going to make it easy to join two sections of Optronics LED light strips together. And this is actually going to work with the light strips that you see there on your screen, identified by those model numbers. And the snap-on design is going to allow for a quick, secure connection without soldering. As you can see, there is some 3M adhesive on the bottom of this, and you'll just peel back that backing to expose that adhesive, and then you're gonna be able to mount this.
And I have this side of this connector propped open, just to kind of show you how this is going to work. You do have to just kind of pry this portion up, and you'll do the same on this side as well. But you have, when you have this open like this, you'll slide in your light strip, and then just push it down just like that, and you can hear that snap, and then that will secure your light strip in this connector. So if you are looking to connect or join two sections of those Optronics LED light strips that we looked at by model number together, then this is going to be the connector that you need. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today.

Snap-on design allows for easy connections.Didn't work with the light strips I bought, even though the part numbers were recommended together. I just connected the trailing leads of the light strips instead.
Work out great for me and I would buy it again
I bought 2 of these snap on connectors and one broke and the pins to pierce the strip bent and got gummed up with adhesive. I cleaned it up, bent pin back and kinda fixed it but I doubt the damaged one will last. There are few other options so buy an extra or two. Alternatively, the Optronics strips have about 4" long red/black wires at BOTH ends of the strips which would be uglier but make for a superior connection between two strips.
Awning light had only 3 feet working since we bought it used from dealer. I installed this connector at the break. Now the entire strip is lit up for the first time. Only time will tell if it holds up to the weather.

The light strips have positive and negative pigtails at both ends. To daisy chain them you just have to connect the ends of one strip to the next. These connectors are designed to pierce the wires to make that connection, but the plastic casing doesnt hold the wires in the correct place for the piercing elements to work. It was much easier just to use standard butt connectors to join the light strips.
