Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the surface-mount chrome base for the Thin Line Series LED lights. Now this chrome base is a surface mount design, lets you install your Thin Line Series lights either vertically or horizontally to the rear view trailer. It is a chrome plastic construction and it's chrome base will enhance the appearance of your Thin Light Series LED lights. Now on our product page for this part number, it does list the part numbers of the lights that will work in this space, and I happen to pull one of those, just to show you how it works. Here's one of those lights.
You can see the two wires, power and ground, are right in the center, and the base has a cutout for that. So you just put your wires through the hole and then when you drop it into the base, it's a snug fit. You just go ahead and push down on that. And when you do that, you'll notice the holes line up, right here, and when they line up, that's where your screws will go. It needs two screws to install.
Now the screws are not included. Basically they'll go through the light and the base and hold it all into place. Now a few measurements on this base. I'm gonna go ahead and pull the light up. The overall length from this end to this end, we put a tape measure on it, is right at 19 inches long.
The width on it, right at two inches wide, and the total depth is about 13/16ths of an inch. Now the mounting holes, which are right here, center to center on those, put the ruler on it, is right at 16 and 1/8ths-inches. Well that should do it for the review on the surface-mount chrome base for the Thin Line Series LED Lights.

Perfect replacement
We needed a black base for our streamline tail lights, in order to match the other lights on our camp trailer which are surrounded by black rubber gaskets. So I sprayed these chrome bases with black plasti-dip and it turned out fine for our application.
I am using this for a third brake light on a headache rack. It has dim for running lights and bright for brake lights. It is pretty bright. The only thing I don't like is the three center leds are a little dimmer than the others.
Still working great as a supplemental stove hood light. Original incandescent light was just too dim for cooking on the stove.
Gives my tail lights a more noticeable look. Fits perfectly with the tail lights and looks great.
Fit perfectly. will do the job nicely.
Sending lights back so I don’t need these.
