Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Malone Century ratchet tie downs. Part number MPG316. The Malone Century ratchet straps are great for quickly and easily tying down your bow and stern points to your vehicle. Instead of having to go thought the trouble of tying knots with your previous lines, you can replace them with these, and just ratchet them down in place in a matter of seconds. It comes with enough rope and straps to attach one kayak to your vehicle, and the ropes won't cause damage or abrasions to your vehicle once installed. These work belts will replace your old bow and stern tie downs and can work with kayak carriers that don't come with them as well. The ropes are 11 feet long by a quarter inch wide and has a maximum load capacity of 250 pounds. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the bow and stern tie downs, let's go ahead and show you how they install. First, when you open up the packaging this is what you're gonna get here.

We'll have the hooks for tow loop or hitch attachment points. We'll have the actual ropes for the bow and stern tie downs. Then we'll have our loops to attach to our kayak, and then our two ratcheting hooks. We'll first attach our loops to our tie down point here at our kayak. We'll pass it through the handle loop there. Pull it around itself, and tighten it up.

We'll do this at the rear as well. Now we'll get our tie downs ready. We'll first take our ratchet end here. Take an open end of our line. Push it through the bottom. You see there It'll come to the ratchet portion here.

Push up like that so it just freely spins. You can see there. Start feeding it in until it comes out the other side like so. We'll find our other open end right here and attach our hook portion. Pass it through the eyelet like so.

Tie a knot. Pull nice and tight, and tie another. And pull it nice and tight. Give it a tug and make sure that it's nice and firm. Now we can go to our attachment point. In the center of our vehicle, we'll find our tow loop. Attach it to that, and keeping it tight we'll bring it up to the loop we installed earlier. Take the other hook end. Put that through, and then slowly pull it tight through that connection point until the line is nice and tight. Then we'll just tie off the excess.
