Hi there, heavy haulers. Today, we're going to be taking a look at InfiniteRule's replacement dust cover.You've got your nice InfiniteRule locking pin here, but you've lost your dust cap. And how is that going to affect youWell, this is a stainless steel lock, so moisture and corrosion isn't really one of our major concerns with it. But if you do get dirt, debris, and things like that inside the locking mechanism here, when you go to put your key in, it could cause like a binding. The little pebble could get into it, where it's in the way, and you've got to get in and out to get it out of there. You could clean it out and things like that, but why don't we stop it at the sourceNow, it does come with a dust boot from the factory, but our customer here looks like they lost theirs, but we do have replacements available here at etrailer.com, because we don't want to be cleaning this out and having to fidget with it.
We just want it to work when we're ready to use it. So by ensuring that we've got our dust cover in place, we can ensure that no dirt and debris, as well as moisture stays out of there so we have smooth operation of our lock.This is an inexpensive solution to protect your investment of both your hitch lock and your components that you are staying secured to your receiver. It's definitely worth the investment when you look at how expensive all these components are.And if we look at some other locks that people have, this one here rusted out and they didn't have their dust boot on it and the key wouldn't work anymore. And this one ended up having to get cut off just so they could get their accessories out. Let's avoid having to do any work and any expensive repairs by protecting things before they have a chance to start.Replacement dust caps from InfiniteRule come in either a 7/8ths, like we're showing off here, or 1 1/4 inch diameter.

Nice rubber cap to keep the crude out of the lock. This fits a Reese lock at 1.25 inches. Took about 5 seconds to install. Don't let your nice lock go into the trash because of a simple cap. Too easy

- Replacement Dust Cover Dimensions for Compatibility with Hitch Pin Lock CylinderThe Replacement Dust Cover for etrailer.com Hitch Lock # e98923 has an inside diameter of 7/8 inch. We don't carry the Tow Power Lock, so I don't know the diameter of that lock cylinder. We also have the cover # 340M55787-01 which has a 1-1/8 inch inner diameter if that is a better fit for the lock cylinder.

- Can Dust Cap on Yakima HitchLock Be ReplacedThe InfiniteRule locks have a different design than the Yakima locks so I don't see how it would fit properly over the Yakima HitchLock # Y07235. I know it's probably not what you want to hear but my recommendation is to replace the HitchLock body you currently have with a new one as part # 8820048. You can swap out your current lock core to the new body by using the Control Key # Y8007835. This gives you a new cover for your Yakima locking hitch pin to help keep out dirt and debris. Attached...

- Dimensions on Replacement Dust Cover for Deadbolt Hitch LockI went out to the warehouse to take a look at the etrailer.com Replacement Dust Cover # e98923 referenced in your question. The inside diameter of the cap is right at around 7/8 inches and will not be a good fit for your 1 inch lock pin barrel. A better option might be # 340M55787-01. This will not be an exact replacement for your lock but it does have an inner diameter of 1-1/8 inch.
