I am not sure when I got the trunk rack initially, but it had held up very well over Many years. When, in response to a speed-bump, 3 of the 6 straps tore, I thought I would need to replace the whole rack. I looked on line, and found that I could replace straps. It would appear that over the years, there has been some design changes in how the binding attached to the rack, but I have been able to restore it to full fuction.1086526
