Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this four foot long SmartPlug marine power cord. On this end, we have the 30 amp male SmartPlug. And on this end is the 30 amp female twist lock connector. Now, this cord will let you connect your boat to shore power with this SmartPlug system connector.
Now, the 30 amp female twist lock connector on this end is what will plug into your 30 amp male twist type inlet that's on your boat. And on the other end is the 30 amp male SmartPlug connector that'll plug into a 30 amp female SmartPlug connector on your dock at the dock side. I want to zoom in so you can see up close the connector. This SmartPlug right here, this will ensure a nice, solid connection. You can see it has a nice sleeve design, which will keep the weight and the tension off of the electrical pins, so the body of the whole plug bears the weight to keep the points of electrical contact secure.
They are straight-in connections of the SmartPlug male end, makes plugging in easy even in the dark. They do use triple weatherproof seals to prevent water corrosion and overheating. And the construction on this SmartPlug is the external metals are all a marine-grade 316 stainless steel, the electrical pins are a nickel-plated brass, and all the plastics are UV and heat resistant. The other end is your standard female twist lock connector. Has a threaded sealing ring for a nice weatherproof connection.
Now, you can see this whole cord is a nice, bright orange color for high visibility. And this part is made in the USA. Few specs on this, again, the length we mentioned is four feet, the amperage 30 amps, and the voltage is 125 volts. The SmartPlug is a great innovation, far better and more secure than the old style, twist connectors, and safer for your RV or boat. This new pigtail makes it even easier to switch to the SmartPlug since now there is no need to cut the end of a perfectly good shore power cord in order to adapt to this superior system. Plus you add 4 feet to the length of your cord. This is the second boat I have converted to the SmartPlug system.
Switched out 2020 Airstream Classic to the SmartPlug system, and needed a way to provide power to charge the batteries and operate the lights and fans, while in storage. The 50 to 15 AMP adapter is well made, with all connections being cast, eliminating any possibility of weather intrusion.
As ususal Teri N is awesome to deal with, trailer is hard to be for customers service.

This item was originally ordered last summer but was out-of-stock in the inventory and was on back order. Multiple times the manufacturer established a delivery date that then a few days before the delivery date postponed delivery and re-established a new delivery date. etrailer kept me informed via email whenever they received new information from the manufacturer.
etrailer emailed me as soon as they received the item into its inventory, told me when it would be shipped and met their shipping date. The item came on time and I immediately used it to charge my camper van. It is exactly as advertised and I am totally satisfied with it.

Exactly what I needed
I was hesitant in ordering this pigtail since it was so expensive compared to the actual extension cord it self or other pigtails from other brands.
