Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. And, today, we're gonna take a brief look at the SmartPlug RV power cord adapter. This four-foot long adapter is going to let you connect your 50 amp SmartPlug cord to a 15 amp outlet at a campsite or at a residence. This is equipped with a light here to let you know the status of your cord and the power that's going through it or if you have any problems. A blue LED light is going to illuminate to indicate that the power is flowing normally. And then this does come with a little guide here to walk you through what the red light means or a combination, red and blue light.
So this will let you know if you have a fault and if you need to do something to correct that to make sure that the power is flowing as it should. This is made here in the USA. This is a 10 gauge cord, and it's extremely flexible, as you can see. And this is made of high-quality materials, it's going to hold up in extreme climates or out on the water. The marine grade stainless steel components are going to hold up season after season, and the nickel-plated brass electrical pins and tinned wires are going to resist corrosion.
The plastics are UV and heat-resistant, Valox 553 heat resins. Of course, this is gonna work with your 120 volt system. This does come with a cap that you can put over the connector here to protect it when it's not in use. And then to remove the cap, you just squeeze those two levers there, that'll let it out. So, overall, this is a very well-built cord.

Switched out 2020 Airstream Classic to the SmartPlug system, and needed a way to provide power to charge the batteries and operate the lights and fans, while in storage. The 50 to 15 AMP adapter is well made, with all connections being cast, eliminating any possibility of weather intrusion.
As ususal Teri N is awesome to deal with, trailer is hard to be for customers service.

The SmartPlug is a great innovation, far better and more secure than the old style, twist connectors, and safer for your RV or boat. This new pigtail makes it even easier to switch to the SmartPlug since now there is no need to cut the end of a perfectly good shore power cord in order to adapt to this superior system. Plus you add 4 feet to the length of your cord. This is the second boat I have converted to the SmartPlug system.

This item was originally ordered last summer but was out-of-stock in the inventory and was on back order. Multiple times the manufacturer established a delivery date that then a few days before the delivery date postponed delivery and re-established a new delivery date. etrailer kept me informed via email whenever they received new information from the manufacturer.
etrailer emailed me as soon as they received the item into its inventory, told me when it would be shipped and met their shipping date. The item came on time and I immediately used it to charge my camper van. It is exactly as advertised and I am totally satisfied with it.
I haven’t had a chance to use the product yet therefore I can’t comment on it. But etrailer customer service was great and the sale price was the best I see anywhere. I received the product promptly and well packed for shipping.
