Today we're going to take a look at the zinc plated 2.72 inch outer diameter drive in grease cap. Now this grease cap is used on trailer hubs that have a 2.72 inch inner diameter of their hub. The grease cap is what is installed on the end of the trailer hub and it's to prevent any dirt from getting to your bearings and also to keep the grease in the hub around your bearings. This is a drive in installation. It is a nice corrosion resistant zinc plated finish. And it's made of a 22 gauge steel construction for durability.
It is for a quantity of one cap. The flanged diameter again, this what will be driven into the trailer hub. It's going to be right at 2.72 inches. Overall height from the bottom to the very top of the cap is 1.28 inches tall. But that should do it for the review on the zinc plated 2.72 inch outer diameter drive in grease cap..

The product arrived in timely fashion. In good condition except for a spot on one cap that had no zinc. This is not a problem, but worth a mention. The caps are made of a thinner steel as I expected for the price, thus requiring extra care during installation. Good tight fit in drum. Overall I am well satisfied. etrailer is a good company to deal with. They care!
The bearing and race replacements I ordered for my trailer have held up well a year later with 7K + miles on them.
I felt fortunate however that they were not damaged despite how they were shipped from ETrailer. After all these are precision bearings and machined races.

Once again, I bought this cap for an Oliver #5 hay rake, it was a perfect fit. Guys, it’s been 2 years and I’m still rakin’ hay like a wild man! The cap is still holding in tight and that rake ain’t never spent the night under a roof.
