Hi, everybody. My name is Andy with etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at Coghlan's snap fastener kit. Now this kit is going to contain everything that you need to add or replace snap fasteners to items such as your boat covers, your tents, your curtains or awnings. Let's take a closer look at what you get in this kit. Now you will get a set of eight nickel-plated screw-in stud to canvas fasteners along with a flaring tool and a setting base. So this kit, again, is going to provide everything that you need to add these or replace them.
And it's a compact kit. It's easy to keep around the house, your car, your RV, or in your camping gear. And you'll have everything you need to make a quick fix. So let me just kind of give you an idea of what the insulation would be like. You would begin installing the screw stud onto obviously a hard surface and the recommendation is to use a drill to make a small hole enough to begin screwing the base in to that surface.
And you would obviously use a Phillips head screwdriver to get this installed. So then once you have this base installed, you would take material that you're wanting to install the female end of the fastener to and you would punch a hole in that material big enough to put the tube of this rounded side through. So, you would punch a hole in the material large enough for this tube and then you would take this base and you would put the smooth end of this fastener into the base. And then you would put the material with the hole over this. And then you would just take the socket here, let me try to give you a view of that.
And then you would put the socket on top of the material and through the post here, that tube of this rounded top. So once you have all of that together, again, keeping in mind the material would be in between. You would take this flaring tool and you'd place that flaring tool over the socket and then you would take a hammer to firmly hammer the top of this flaring tool to set that button over that material. Now when you're using this flaring tool you'll want to ensure that the flaring tool is going to be held straight and perpendicular to the base. And then once you use this flaring tool and you hammer that firmly, you will have this snap together over that material.
And then it can be used to snap to that base that you have attached to that hard surface. Now, this is not to be used, this set is not to be used in saltwater applications. And if you're looking for other sets such as this, fasteners, if you're looking for just the female end or if you're looking for a different type of male end, we do have those options available here at etrailer.com. If you're looking for just the female end of fasteners for fabric boat covers, you can find those items from Taylor-made on our website. Item number 369401. Or if you're looking for the male-end snap fasteners, again you can find those on our website. Item number 369403. Well that's going to conclude our look today at Coghlan's snap fastener kit. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
