Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Curt Weight Distribution Shank. Now, this shank is going to slide into your two inch hitch receiver, and it's going to give you the attachment point that you need for your weight distribution system's head assembly. And this is designed to be used with your Curt weight distribution systems, and this has a weight capacity of 15,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 1,500 pounds. Now, as you probably have already noticed, this shank does feature 10 adjustment holes for attaching your head assembly, letting you level your trailer with your tow vehicle. And let me go ahead and pull out my tape measure here real quick, and I wanna measure first of all the overall height here at the tallest point. So lining up my tape measure there, as you can see, we're sitting right at about 13 1/4 inches tall.
And let me get my ruler here for some of these smaller measurements. The distance between our attachment holes, center to center, lining that up there for you, as you can see, we're sitting right at an inch and a quarter, and then, these holes are 3/4 of an inch in diameter. And this shank can be flipped to provide the necessary drop or rise, so right now I have it in the drop position, and this is going to give you a maximum drop of about 7 3/8 inches, and then when you flip this over, you're gonna get a maximum rise of about 11 1/2 inches. Now, let me give you some further measurements, so you can be confident this is going to work for you. Our pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch, so I'm gonna take some measurements from the center of that pin hole diameter, so lining that up, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of our shank, we're sitting right at about, almost eight inches, 7 7/8 inches long.
And then keeping my ruler there, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of our adjustment hole, we are sitting right at seven inches. And then it's gonna be hard for me to line up my ruler with this block here, but from the center of our hitch pin hole to where this begins to bend, we're sitting right at about 3 1/4 inches, and then turning this around here, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear of our shank, (indistinct) up there for you, let me move my hand out of the way, we're sitting right at three inches. Now, this is a heavy-duty shank, this is constructed from forged steel for superior strength, and then it features this black powder coat. It's pretty generous in its application from what I can tell, that's going to help resist rust and corrosion. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today, I do hope that it was helpful for you.
Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
