Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I ordered this hitch for my 2014 Nissan Rogue, and was pleased with the instructions and the workmanship. Nothing looked flimsy or insufficient for the loads I would put on it.

Assembly was not straightforward, but I didn't have to drill anything. I only had t remove a metal cowling from near the end to cut it out for clearance. The video really helped a lot.

I'd really recommend having a jack to allow the hitch to be inserted. Due to the space, it was necessary to push up one end, swing over so the other end would get into place. Not a hard puzzle, but tough without a good jack that can hold the weight while moving it around.

I needed the hitch to add a bike rack, and haven't had any complaints or noticed any problems after a year.

TL;DR: Very satisfied, the online videos helped a lot

Instructions were sufficient. My 12 year old did much of the installation, despite child labor laws. :)

I haven't actually USED the hitch yet, so I can't testify to its strength, but install was easy.

I purchased this hitch specifically to support a 4-bicycle rack by Yakima. It served that purpose well, with a 350# tongue limit which is far below what we operate. This is a very beefy hitch. Pep-Boys installed it with no issues on our 2016 Nissan Rogue.

In the photo you can see the early signs of rust after about a year in Southwest PA and that's only after serving six months of the past year. I expect to deal with this using some Krylon rust-inhibiting paint. That is kind of a disappointment and I would have expected a thicker powder coat.

I will say that if I could make one change it is for there to be one more hole to key the rack in a bit closer to the body.

I was looking for a hitch on my new Rogue for a bike rack requiring a 2 inch receiver. I have been impressed with every aspect of this product. The site was excellent and easy to understand. The instruction video was informative and easy to understand. The hitch was delivered on time. The free shipping was a great bonus. I had no problems with the installation. I had a little trouble removing the factory bracket on the right side. The bolts were very tight. You just need the proper tools. I was even able to get the appearance plastic to fit on the left side with a little trial and error. The right side fit with no modifications. The hitch works great and looks great.

2016 Nissan Rogue

Very pleased with this hitch- delivered very quickly, and even though part of the hitch was sticking out of the box it was in perfect condition.

I watched the instructional video a few times, which was very helpful, and the whole install was about 40 minutes. About 25 minutes of this was spent getting the Phillips screws out from the plastic trim (the nut above is not accessible and spins, so you may need to pull down on the trim as you unscrew for it to come out ), and then the bolts for the tow hook out as they were seemingly screwed in and welded by demons into my car.

Installing the hitch was a breeze, and was easier than I anticipated! This is coming from someone who is not very handy at these sorts of things .

Would highly recommend this for the Nissan Rogue. Plan on using this for my hitch-mount bike rack, as well as towing a small utility trailer.

Attached are a few shots- before and after the install.

I DID not install it myself, I took it to a trusted auto shop and they said it was the best custom hitch receiver they had seen.
They had it installed in less than a 1/2 hour!

Highly recommend this product!

I needed a rack to hold two totally different types of bikes. The Swagman XTC-2 platform bike rack is perfect! Since one bike is a Randy Ross 3G stepper bike and doesn't have a crossbar, I needed a rack that would carry both styles, this rack does that. Using the etrailer questions page, I was able to determine the dimensions and clearances of the bike rack to make certain is was correct for my bikes. I also used the different videos to also help pick the correct tow hitch for my Nisson Rogue. I placed the order, had an immediate confirmation and the rack was shipped the next day. It arrived as scheduled in perfect shape. The directions are a little vague and do not match the hardware, but it is not an issue. This is very simple to assemble. I like the fact that the weight of the bikes is supported in the hoops, then the clamps secure the frames, a very secure system. The hoop locations are adjustable, it took me a couple of tries to find the ideal configuration for holding our bikes. Also, the rack can be folded down (with the bikes removed) to allow the rear door to opened without removing the rack from the car. Etrailer is great to deal with and I got a great price with free shipping. I have to stress that the installation videos make the installation easy and were 100 percent correct. They addressed every question I had about how to install the tow hitch. It was actual a two person job. The reviews and videos of the racks in actual use was a big help to me, in picking the tow hitch and rack combo. I would highly recommend etrailer.com

The Draw-Tite Max Frame Hitch Receiver 75902 fits a 2014 Nissan Rouge with room to receive our Yakima Swing Daddy bike rack system with room to spare between the bumper and the bike rack.

Initially, we had a local parts supplier fit the vehicle with a Curt brand hitch. Unfortunately, it did not extend out far enough to receive the Yakima system. We were left without any alternative hitch solutions other than a hitch extender which would be nothing but a headache.

Thankfully, I found etrailer.com and I got all the necessary info to make the right choice. Thanks to customer service info, it was a go.

Timely shipping by Etrailer and wonderful customer service. I emailed a question and got a stellar answer next day by a rep. The hitch itself is high quality and very sturdy. Installation itself was a breeze thanks to the video on etrailer.com and included instructions. Video may need to be updated though as the design of the hitch had a minor change relating to the passenger side number of bolts (was 3 and dropped to just 2). The hardest part of the install was cleaning out the weld nuts on the frame of my 2011 Nissan Rogue. I ultimately had to borrow a toolkit from the local autopart store for cleaning out the threads (almost like a tap but called a rethreader or thread chaser set). After MANY cleanings manually over an hour with a brush acquired here at etrailer.com I made absolutely little headway in threading my bolts, but using the thread chaser I was done in 5 minutes. Thank you etrailer for the wonderful price and customer service!

I installed the hitch myself. Took me a little longer than it should have but I was able to do everything myself. Brought the laptop out to garage and watched the how to video and went step by step. I backed the truck up on ramps in the driveway to fit under the truck with ease. I initially used two jack stands to prop up the hitch while attaching. I found that using one jack stand only in the center was best. Having multiple extension sizes for ratchet is beneficial as well. Be sure to have metric size available. I used a razor blade to cut the plastic to fit right. Be sure to attach the plastic pieces the correct way when reassembling or the pins don't hold well. :) it seems to sit low so I may reverse the ball so it sits up higher. Wonder if most have to on the rogue? I may pay someone to install the wiring because that looks a little more difficult than the hitch itself.

2013 Nissan Rogue

Got everything I ordered in the box sooner than I expected. It took me about 15 - 20 minutes to put the hitch on using a floor jack. Make sure you put the drivers side up first it goes much quicker and easier that way. The wiring harness worked beautifully. I put the wire to the battery through a rubber grommet just to the front of the spare tire compartment. Using a piece of electric fence wire, about 3 feet long, taped to the end I was able to fish it over top the gas tank and follow the fuel lines all the way to the engine compartment. Keeping it under all the protective shields. All in all it took a little bit of work to do this way but well worth the extra effort because it is completely hidden and protected. Took 3 - 4 hours to do the wiring. All in all one afternoon in the shop the job was done. Haven't pulled a trailer yet but don't expect any problems with it when we take a small U-Haul to Texas next month.

Ordered this hitch for my Nissan Rogue. The delivery was prompt and arrived a day or so before I expected. Removed hitch and had a small fit when I could not find the hardware. Then decided to check in hosel where the bike rack inserts and bam there it was. Had to use some long pliers to get it but was successful.

Hitch was in excellent condition. Installed by myself and it was harder than expected from the perspective of how I had to do it. Being under the car laying down made it challenging to get some of the bolts loosened and hold the hitch up so I could install first couple of bolts.

One issue to look out for... when removing plastic vanity covers off both sides, the Philips head screws unscrew to a certain distance then you have to pull out. Its part threaded and part push pin. Wasted considerable time until I just yanked the cover in frustration.

Final install was completed, looks great. Feels sturdy and secure. Very pleased with the equipment. Will be testing it out asap....

Another happy customer, the instructors were accurate and the hitch was installed as expected. The online videos and the other posted reviews were very helpful. After removing the pictured bracket the hitch bolted straight on. The only recommendation was that hitch arrived with the ends of it breaking through the wall of the shipping box and one end had paint chipped off, my recommendation was to improve the shipping packaging for such a quality product.

A great experience ordering from etrailer. I paid $xx.xx dollars extra to get it on time for a camping trip. Packaging was strong, no damage, and there was the shining new item. It takes 20 minutes to install this product. Then I attached a 4 bike trailer and took a weekend trip. It was a 2 hours drive mostly in highway each way and we were able to enjoy our bikes. The product is strong. Also, seeing order details and great tracking information was great. I recommend the product and etrailer.

Excellent product! Pain in the butt to install due to dirt and rust in the mounting holes. I used plenty of WD-40 and patience. Took a couple of hours due to patience but once it was on, it was on!

This is 3rd or 4th purchase from etrailer.com and they ship quickly. I have used their customer service in the past with no issues.

Pros:
- Seems solid
- As designed,
simple to install (but see below)
Cons:
-Package arrived severely damaged - hitch was very poorly packed (not the fault of UPS). This resulted in chipped paint on the product.
- One side of the hitch was slightly bent, making it very difficult to line up with the frame nuts. Installation should have been simple - this made it quite difficult. I eventually got it it done, but I had to take the tire off to get enough access to force the hitch into alignment.

Very impressed with the fast shipping. The box did come damaged and the hitch had some deep scratches. Not a big enough deal to hassle with and it doesn't effect the quality of the product. I've installed these before so I knew how easy it would be to install. I did watch the "How To" video to get familiar with the vehicle. Very helpful. I even had my 9 year old help me. Picture attached. Looks great. Overall, very satisfied with the hitch and with eTrailer. Thank Guys!

Excellent communication through the order and shipping process. Order was placed on Monday 28th and it shipped the same day. It arrived on Thursday the same week at Niagara Falls NY. Instructions were pretty straight forward. I installed it myself and the only issue I had was cleaning out the rust in the frame weld nuts. Followed the etrailer video on cleaning out the rust but after 6 years on the road through Canadian winters there was a lot of rust. Couldn't find a right size tap to clean the nuts so I did the next best thing. I used a Dremel cutting disc to cut out 4 lines of threads at 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock positions. Used the old bolts that secured the factory installed towing eye. Screwed and unscrewed the bolt on the 3 driver side weld nuts using a pneumatic ratchet. This took the longest time. Once these were clear install was a breeze. Suggest anyone doing a self install perform the above prep work while the product ships. Once ready install takes less than 15mins.

Item was installed onto a 2014 Nissan Rogue S. This will be used for some light hauling in the next few weeks for some moving, and in the future for a recreational vehicle trailer.

Very clean finish on the item and it appears to have a very solid construction. My car will probably give out before this does as this is rated way beyond the actual towing capacity of the car.

Loving the video walk-throughs provided on the web site, as you can foresee MOST potential obstacles before you get elbows deep into the installation.

I would love to give this a perfect score, but it seems that eventually, the tooling or assembly jig for items like this are slightly off spec. In my case the mounting holes were slightly askew. No matter which side you bolted into place first, the holes were about a 1/4 inch off on at least one of the holes. Just enough to prevent the bolts from inserting with out the use of some form of alignment tool, to pull things into place. It did make the install a little challenging and quite a workout.

Other than that, the install went as expected. A good linoleum knife does wonders when it comes to trimming out the drivers side under-side covers for re-install.

All in all a very good experience.

I purchased the Drawtite Hitch Receiver for my 2014 Nissan Rouge SV. Overall I think this was the perfect DIY project with minimal tools and a little effort. The only challenges I faced was that two of the hitch bolt holes did not line up with the pre-drilled frame holes by about a half an inch. One of the hitch mounting brackets was welded inwards on the cross bar by about a half an inch. I called the customer hotline and was told this is a common problem, apply body weight to bend the mounting bracket outwards a little more. I will tell you now I'm pretty big and that is impossible. I used a heavy mallet and bent it out with ease until it lined up perfectly with the frame. I also stripped the first three threads on one of the bolts however I have a tap and die kit and that was corrected. This is the only reason I did not give an excellent rating as the mounting bracket was off measurement by a half an inch. My advice is to make sure all holes line up with the frame perfectly before your install and do not force bolts to turn they all should turn freely with ease. If it lined up properly the first time then yes, this is a 30minute install.

While on the market for a trailer hitch for my 2012 rogue I ran into this one online. Read great reviews so I purchased it. Upon arrival of was very evident how sturdy it was, all the hardware was included as well. Bought this along with the wiring and took me 15 min yo install the hitch, about 4 hours to install the wiring, taking my time to clean and disassemble all the panels to route the power wire from the battery through the inside and out the grommet. Definitely recommend it as everything g was well explained and delivered as promised.

My wife asked that I install a bike rack on her 2018 Rogue. I found the receiver at etrailer and watched the installation video, figured it would be easy to install. I placed my order and had it in less then a week, installed within an hour and she was ready to go! Very fast and easy!

  • Is There Difference Between Hidden Hitch and Draw Tite Hitch for 2014 Nissan Rogue
The Draw Tite hitch # 75902 and the Hidden Hitch part # HH87663 are exactly the same hitch. They are both made by the same company who bought out both brands years back. Hidden Hitch is actually discontinued though and Draw Tite will be the only option.

  • Recommended Bike Rack and Hitch for 2017 Nissan Rogue
For your 2017 Nissan Rogue, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13204 does require some trimming of an underbody trim panel, so whether you are comfortable doing that trimming or not would be the only issue with doing it yourself. If you are comfortable with the trimming as shown in the video you can absolutely do it yourself. If you are not, any mechanic you trust can install it. You may want to consider the Draw-Tite # 75902 simply because the installation will be the same, but Draw-Tite...

  • Parts Needed for Towing with a 2008 Nissan Rogue
I looked up the owner's manual for your 2008 Nissan Rogue and found that the max Tongue Weight (TW) that your vehicle can handle (found on page 9-20) is 150 lbs. • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Two Bike Rack for 2009 Nissan Rogue
I'd recommend the Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # 75606. The hitch uses the more popular 2 inch receiver opening, so you'll have a better selection of bike racks and other hitch mounted accessories to choose from. I've linked to an install video. The number of bike racks compatible with your Rogue are too numerous to mention, but if you click the link, you can see a listing of the top 20 most popular bike racks with Rogue owners. What in my opinion are you two best choices follow. ...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for Kuat Transfer 2 on 2015 Nissan Rouge
Either of the 2 trailer hitches that you referenced, the Curt # C13204 and the Draw-Tite # 75902, will work to carry the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack # KU74FR while it is folded down. The 2 inch receiver on these hitches will fit well with the Kuat Transfer. However, neither of the trailer hitches will allow you to fold the bike rack up when not in use. When we installed the Curt # C13204 on a 2015 Nissan Rogue, we found the center of hitch pin hole to bumper clearance to be 5...
