Padded, Rotating Holders

frame holders

The Destination rack uses rotating frame holders to secure your bikes. The rubber padded holders rotate 360 degrees, and move up and down the center mast independently, to accommodate frames of various shapes and sizes. The holders have padded ratcheting straps to secure your bike by their frame.

Ratcheting Wheel Straps

wheel straps

The wheel holders accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 48", and ratcheting wheel straps secure the wheels to the bike trays. The straps are padded and can be adjusted along the tray to ensure a perfect fit.

Folding Design

folding design

The rack folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just unscrew the knob and pull it out to lift the rack up. Re-insert the knob and tighten it to the rack.

Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin

installation to hitch

The Destination rack easily installs in your hitch with the included anti-rattle hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and then tighten it down with the included tool. The threaded pin also works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver. The rack also includes a hitch lock to secure it to your vehicle and deter theft.

adapter sleeve

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with 2 screws and can be installed or removed quickly.

The Destination bike rack works perfectly on my 2020 Pacifica and I have clearance going over speed bumps! I recently upgraded my bike to a Trek step through which hung too low on my old Thule rack no matter how the cross bar adapter was adjusted. Problem solved!

Works great!

by:

I realy like how it holds my bikes securly in place. I also like that (without the bikes) I can open and close the hatch on my 2014 Hyundia Santa Fe.
I have a 2" receiver on my car.
We went away for a long weekend from CT to VT and had no issues with it holding my bikes. Would definetly recomend.

The bike rack is still working great a year later!

I did a lot of research and decided I didn’t want to spend $300 or more. This Hollywood Destination bike rack had such high reviews that I decided to make the purchase. I figured I could return it if it didn’t meet my specifications. But I am very happy I have it. It’s so easy to put on and take off of my Outback and the bike is very solid with no swaying when I maneuver Illinois roads. This was a great decision and thank you etrailer for your part in this purchase!

I would definitely recommend the Hollywood destination rack to anyone. It weighs 20 pounds and is easy to put on and take off my vehicle. I’m now riding an e-bike and this rack is doing a great job. Thanks

I love this roof rack! It is lightweight and the drop down feature allows entry into the vehicle with the bikes removed. Very easy to install and remove for storage.

@Barb Great to hear. Thank you for your recommendation.

It was easy to put together and also to put on my car. Only got four stars because I haven't traveled with it yet. Very easy to put my bike on it too. I can open the hatch on my Chevy Trax with the rack down and without a bike on it. I hope to do a lot of traveling and exploring with my bike, especially along other parts of the Erie Canal.

The rack is working well. I left it on my car all summer and fall. It traveled well with or without a bike.

by:

Overall the rack has been fantastic. Held bikes from Portland out to Sturgis and many other places. Great product. The only thing I would mention is the lock Thad comes with is is of very poor quality. It’s also a size that you cannot find anywhere so you’re stuck with using it. I add a backup cable for safety.

My daughter had this bike rack and it worked great !
I had a hanging rack and it worked well with the bike I had.
Recently got a different bike and it didn't work well with the hanging rack.
So naturally I went with the Hollywood rack.
It works great with the small or large receivers.
Instructions are easy to understand and tools included for assembly.
Oh did I mention the price , well worth it!
Well Im going riding !
Have a good day !

by:

Much more sturdy than I expected for this lightweight rack.
Very easy to assemble. Rear hatch on our ID.4 easily clears the rack when opening. Multiple adjustments available if needed to accommodate different bike configurations. Very happy with purchase.

Still Working great, easy to put bikes on and off.

by:

This rack has worked out perfect. IT holds 2 bikes with ease yet folds into a fairly flat package when not in use against the back of my vehicle. It is light weight yet very sturdy and well built. I have had strap on bike racks that worked but this one is much easier to load and unload our bikes. The only con is if you don't have a hitch mount you will need one but that allows you to get other accessories like the luggage rack I also purchased from them which frees up space in the inside of my small car. If your on the fence it came well packaged and fast. I did allot of research and this rack gets 5 stars all the way.

by:

Generally pretty happy with the product. The one issue that I have had is that the spring loaded clip on the frame clamp ratcheting strap has broken and no longer provides spring loading and no longer secures the strap in place. Fortunately, I only carry a single bike and am able to use the other frame clamp, but if this one clip fails I am out of business until I am able to get replacement parts.

by:

My mom and I have never used a hitch or bike rack before ordering from this website. After the hitch was installed on her 2015 VW Tiguan we installed the rack. The instructions were easy to understand and all hardware and tools were included. It is helpful to have 2 people to attach the 2 pieces of the rack together. The rotating ratchet straps for the frame and wheels were really helpful. I’ve been wanting a bike rack for awhile and I’m so happy we can transport our bicycles! Thank you for including a video and pictures to help with installation.

by:

Easy installation and the trunk is still accessible even when folded into the upright position. The product says the max wheelbase is 48 inches but my bike is a 2XL frame with a 49-inch wheelbase and still fits just fine!

by:

I am very pleased with this hitch! Fit my bikes very nicely. Easy to assemble. Rack looks great on my Mazda cx-30. Customer service is very responsive.

by:

Very happy with this rack! I've used "big-name" products for years for roof/bike racks but couldn't justify the cost of hitch-mount rack. This rack is a fraction of the cost of the more expensive racks and works amazingly. I'm sure there are different features on the more expensive racks but I cannot really understand how they would make anything better. All of the securement devices are solid and there's enough room for both bikes. We also transport a large mountain bike and a women's beach-cruiser that is oddly shaped and have no problems securing them together. We don't leave the rack on the car so the sun/salt-air that usually destroys racks on the beach won't be an issue. Very, very pleased with this rack.

by:

Love this bike rack! Easy to install and use! Highly recommend!

by:

This is a great rack for the price. Lightweight, easy to use. It does take some manipulating for the frame straps on the upright depending on the type of bike frame that you have. I have 2.8" tires on my Trek Roscoe 8 and you can't go much bigger for tire for this rack. It takes a bit of time to get the rack out of the way to be able to use the hatch on your vehicle ( I have a 2020 Ford Escape). I do wish the straps for the tires were a bit longer to accommodate the larger 2.8" tires on the bike. The hitch lock that came with the bike is nice but a little bit of a pain to use as you can't really tell if it is locked or not despite the indicator on the lock. This rack in the fold up position will interfere with your back up camera and cause the annoying constant beep, in the down position without bikes it doesn't not interfere with the back up camera. It is very easy to install as it only weights 20lbs which is FABULOUS. It takes a little bit of time to put together initially out of the box but not rocket science. i do not keep the rack on the vehicle, only use it when I plan on riding. Storage can be an issue as it does not fold away completely flat but you could easily hang on some S hooks in a garage as it's light enough to lift yourself and store away. The red strap that comes with it could have a better retention feature so the strap doesn't slip. All in all for the price this is definitely a rack I would purchase again. I am glad I went with the platform rack vs. hanging rack. Etrailer's customer service is superb and highly recommend them. I even got asked at a red light where I got the rack as he had not been able to find one without having to pay over $700 for some very well known brands

If the bike rack is loose in the hitch receiver, then I recommend adding on an anti-rattle device like part # rm-061 to it. It will help to minimize the movement of bike rack in the receiver.

Thank you for the message. I'll wait a bit to fill out the review form but will share what we think so far.

Package arrived on date expected. Everything was in order.

My husband put the rack together by himself and said it wasn't too difficult. He didn't fully lock the hitch, as he said it would be tough to unlock. A good thing when trying to deter thieves!

He put on two bikes (not heavy e-bikes), added a strap for extra hold, and has been "test-driving" it around town before an upcoming 2-day road trip. After we arrive at our destination, I'll do the review. In my opinion, a rack needs to do its job "for real" to rate it properly. There is a bit of rocking movement when we hit bumps. That might be normal, but we'll likely add something to try to steady the whole set-up (we've found that joints in the pavement on some interstates can be atrocious). And we'll use our regular bike locks for extra security when we overnight at a motel.

So far I'd say the rack seems very sturdy and easy to use, and was a very reasonable price. Also, your quick follow-up appears to show that your company is serious about customer support. Thanks again for reaching out.

by:

Love the rack. Love the price. I could suggest that the company consider adding some kind of reflection sticker on it of some sort or maybe even the color white. The reason I say this is because I had somebody walk into it because it was too dark outside and they got hurt I should have had it folded up but I didn't otherwise I absolutely love this bike rack. Much easier to get the bikes on and off than the former hitch I had where you have to lift the bike and put it on the two fork hanger that was awful. And the price was so right on this one I actually recommended it to a friend who had a terrible accident with their bikes jumping off their fork rack while driving.

by:

Bike rack looks great. Easily assembled. Received 2 days after ordering, just as e-trailer proposed. Thank you e-trailer. Others at the rv resort are jealous.

by:

I'm very satisfied with this rack due to its light weight and ease to install, remove and store. We're into our second season of use with short trips to ride on local rail trails. A little concerned about the durability of the plastic straps and clips, as I would be with anything made of plastic, but no issues to date. I would describe it as a "busy" rack with all the straps and safety strap to load the bikes, likely a characteristic of lower priced hitch racks, which gets easier over time. I can open the rear hatch of my 2020 Outback with the rack in slightly less than the full upright position which is a major convenience. For my needs and use, I would purchase this rack again.

by:

Sturdy bike rack, easy to use, looks great. Very happy with purchase.

by:

I like it so far. I especially like that I can get my wife's very low step-through bike attached securely to it, which is why I bought it in the first place. And it seems to hold the bikes very securely, and I really haven't noticed any unusual amount of rocking of the bike/s or the rack while I'm driving. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I have already run into a problem with the unusual way of securing the bike frame to the rack. The center support post is so short, it requires strapping the holding device on the post to the diagonal bottom bar on most bikes. When I tried to put my brother's bike on it, that required my brother to remove the bottle holder and air pump that he had mounted to his diagonal bottom bar. It isn't a deal breaker, but it wasn't something I had considered before purchasing it, and it can be a drawback compared to other types of racks.

After originally purchasing this rack a year ago, I can continue to say that this is the best rack for the money that I have seen so far. So much so, that when my first one of these racks was torn up by somebody running into it with a trailer, I immediately bought another one. After a years worth of use, the only real critique I have, other than what Ive already written in my original review, is that I would like them to consider redesigning the pivot pin that holds the rack in either the folded up position or the folded down position. Its a little cumbersome to have to unscrew the pivot pin and then pivot the rack into position and then screw it back in again. It seems to me that a simple pin that you through the holes would work just as well and be a whole lot simpler and faster and easier.
