Recommended Trailer Hitch and Two Bike Rack for 2009 Nissan Rogue

Question:

I have a Nissan Rogue 2013 with a rear spoiler, can you recommend a hitch and a bike rack that would work together on my vehicle? Can you advise if there is more then one that would work. After looking at your site I have found that the Hollywood racks over the top would also work but we are thinking we would like the hitch option because I do not have roof rails I want to verify my options. We have two bikes. Thank you for your help

I'd recommend the Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # 75606. The hitch uses the more popular 2 inch receiver opening, so you'll have a better selection of bike racks and other hitch mounted accessories to choose from. I've linked to an install video.

The number of bike racks compatible with your Rogue are too numerous to mention, but if you click the link, you can see a listing of the top 20 most popular bike racks with Rogue owners. What in my opinion are you two best choices follow.

The Swagman XTC2, part # S64670 is a top choice for Nissan Rogue owners. The rack features an angled shank for plenty of ground clearance, and padded hooks that securely but gently hold your bike in place. The rack includes an anti-rattle hitch pin, but a locking hitch pin/cable lock combo, part # S64031 is highly recommended.

If you'd prefer a hanging style bike rack, you can't go wrong with the Swagman Trailhead, part # S63360. The rack provides anti-sway cradles that keep the bikes from swinging back and forth during travel and hitting each other or the rear of the vehicle as well as sturdy, well padded cradles. The rack also includes an anti-rattle hitch pin, but the same hitch pin/cable lock mentioned above would be recommended.

If you're planning on carrying women's bikes or bikes with a sharply angled top tube, you might consider a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The adapter bar spans the distance between the seat post and the handlebar gooseneck, providing a level attachment point to a hanging type bike rack. Carrying the bike as level as possible is important to maximize ground clearance.

I've linked you to some product demonstration and install videos you might find helpful.
