Not to be used with a cushioned ball mount.

Towing can be brutal, especially when your setup is outfitted with standard, metal-on-metal components. Steel and aluminum can only absorb so much vibration and chucking, so every time you hit a bump in the road, that shock gets transferred to the rest of your rig, leaving it vulnerable to wear and tear. Another unfortunate side effect is an uncomfortable ride for you and your passengers.

Protect your truck and trailer from road shock, vibrations, and rattling - and stay comfortable while you drive - with the shock-absorbing Curt RockerBall hitch ball.

Shock Absorbing ShockDrop Technology

Curt RockerBall with SockDrop Technology

The RockerBall hitch ball features Curt's innovative ShockDrop technology, which is engineered to suppress vibrations and rattling while you're towing. When you hit a bump, the ball compresses around the flexible, polyurethane core. This durable material absorbs excess shock at the coupling point so that it doesn't transfer from the truck to your trailer or vice versa. The result is increased control and comfort as you tow, as well as less wear and tear on your towing setup.

Premium Construction

Curt RockerBall Construction

This hitch ball is built to last with its forged steel construction and durable powder coat finish. The flexible, shock-absorbing polyurethane core withstands extreme heat for long-lasting performance, and the chrome-plated ball resists corrosion.

Curt RockerBall Zerk Fitting

The built-in zerk allows you to lubricate the isolator core when necessary, ensuring quiet and trouble-free operation.

I was in the market.
Looking for some
kind of dampening hitch.
But all the hitches I found We're over $300. I stumbled upon the Curt rocker ball . It was interesting to me so I had looked up some reviews on it. There wasn't any good reviews on it, but there also wasn't any bad reviews either.
So I decided to give it a shot,
Since it was pretty Inexpensive. Since then, I've had it for a year and a 1/2 now And it's been amazing.something so simple,That works very well. You won't notice it as much if the trailer already tows very well But the trailers that do a lot of jerking You will feel the difference.
A night and day difference.to me it reduced it by By 80%. Very good product!

  • Should Hitch Ball Move Inside Coupler When Towing Trailer
The Demco # DM12563 is not made to be adjusted, but what you're experiencing is normal. There should be room for play to allow for the normal movement of the trailer. If it was tight it would not be able to move and pivot as intended. If you want to limit the jerk you feel in your vehicle, you might want to consider the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C40047. This will help reduce the shock from rapid braking and acceleration. Just to make sure it is working properly,...

  • Recommended Ball Mounts For Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing Ball
I may have an option for you but the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball part # C40047 is a 2" ball with a 1" diameter shank so this will not work for your ball mount with a 5/8" hole. If you would like to switch out your ball mount you can use the RockerBall with a ball mount with a 1" diameter I have attached a couple of ball mounts below that will work with the Rockerball since I am not sure how much rise/drop you need in a ball mount. • Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Ball For 800LB Trailer Pulled by 2010 Subaru Forester 2" Receiver
I have a recommendation as the 3,500lb Curt RockerBall # C94CR is only designed to be used with 1-1/4" Class I and II ball mounts. Since you already have 2" draw bars/ball mounts you can use the 7,500lb Curt RockerBall # C40047. This will fit your 2-1/2" wide mounts. This will work with your trailer even though it is only 800lbs. The only option that comes from Curt is the # C45WR with the 7-1/2" ball mount length. If you want a longer ball mount you would have to put one together. You could use the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C40047 along with something like the # D-4 which is 10-1/4" long. Make sure to measure so you get the right length. When we installed this hitch on a 2002 Sienna, we found that the distance from the ground to the top of the hitch receiver was 13-1/2 inches; since the bottom of the U-haul coupler is going to be 18-1/2 inches from the ground (that is what they mean when they say "optimal ball height" as that is how far off the ground the...

Curt offers a solution that would provide additional shock absorption to help isolate the tow vehicle from the shock the trailer experiences on bumpy roads, while still allowing you to use your existing # C45250 ball mount. The Curt # C40047 RockerBall is a 2 inch trailer ball with a 1 inch diameter shank that would be fully compatible with your existing ball mount. The ball has a 7500 lb capacity, so it'll work great with your pop up camper.

Two inches of rise would be the ideal amount based on the height differences you mentioned. When you can't get an exact number it's best to go a little taller since there would be some suspension sag from the tongue weight of the trailer. The rise/drop figure of a ball mount like the # DTBM4200 is factored with a standard hitch ball so you would not need to further calculate in a balls height as well unless you went with a taller ball. What it won't do is help with the movement of the ball mount in the receiver which is pretty unavoidable.
