Recommended Ball Mounts For Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing Ball

Question:

I have a very light load capacity for my 2018 Subaru Forester and I need balls at either 2inch or 1 7/8inch but at 5/8inch shaft. I would love a product like this Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing Hitch Ball if it could meet my specs. My limit of 1500 pounds works with what I have to tow with this vehicle, but the constant banging with out something like this is driving me nuts.

I may have an option for you but the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball part # C40047 is a 2" ball with a 1" diameter shank so this will not work for your ball mount with a 5/8" hole.

If you would like to switch out your ball mount you can use the RockerBall with a ball mount with a 1" diameter I have attached a couple of ball mounts below that will work with the Rockerball since I am not sure how much rise/drop you need in a ball mount.

Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 8-1/4" Long - 7,500 lbs # C45010
Draw-Tite Ball Mount - 4-3/4" Rise, 6" Drop - 10-1/4" Long - 6,000 lbs part # 40346
Brophy Ball Mount - 5" Rise, 6" Drop - 16" Long - Aluminum - 8,000 lbs part # EA60
Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2-3/4" Rise, 4" Drop 9" long- 7,500 lbs part # 2753

Also depending on why you are hearing rattling it could be the ball mount in the hitch itself. You can use a Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches part # RM-061 to tighten up the connection.
