This the third Convert-a-Ball set that I purchased. I just located my original one purchase some twenty years ago. The two I purchased from you are stainless steel not chrome plated as my first purchase. Love them, will make my life easier!

by:

Great quality

by:

Purchased and installed on a B and W Tow and Stow Pintle Hitch.

by:

Fast Service. Great Quality. Have purchased several items. They are my go to for anything trailer related.

by:

Very good first impression. I read somewhere a tip about putting a screwdriver through the hitch (without the ball on it) to hold it steady while torquing it. That worked great! (why not include that tip with your packaging). I am currently only using the 1 7/8 ball with my utility trailer, but now that I have a truck, that opens up a lot of other possibilities and I'll be ready with the other two balls.

Good, Ive used the mid-sized ball a couple of times as well as the 1 7/8 a lot and it works fine.

by:

Have a set of these convert a ball and love the fact I don't have to have two or three different hitches or ball mounts for each ball. Or a ball mount that you have to rotate to get the ball size you need.

I love the product. I already had or own an ball mount and theconvert a ball setup. That is the reason I purchase another one but with the four inch . I have and will to continue to recommend the product.

by:

I have a small box trailer that has a 1 7/8" hitch, a boat trailer that has a 2" hitch, and a car trailer that has a 2 5/16" hitch. The Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable 3 Ball Set solved my problem. With out it I would have had to have a ball mount for each ball size. The Convert-A-Ball is a very good product.

by:

Having this set of balls really help me out since I am changing trailers a lot of the time. I carry them with me in a small little ditty bag that I keep in the truck. I also keep the ball mount in the same bag because it's illegal to keep the hitch in the receiver when your not towing something.

by:

I've used Convert-a-Ball for as long as I can remember. My last one was for my Subaru Outback, 1 7/8" and 2" only, chrome, and ended up wearing and rusting a bit, so I thought for my Grand Cherokee I'd go with stainless and add the 2 5/16" for a larger trailer I know I'll be pulling. Really like the product. Most everything I pull is about the same height, so just swapping the balls is great. I've even had a rare occasion where the 1 7/8" came to the rescue. The only improvements I would love to see are rather minor:
- A torque spec on the packaging instead of having to search for it, thankfully etrailer has that info on their site, and maybe my package was missing instructions.
- A way to put a wrench on it for tightening. Slipping a rod through the hole works OK, but not everyone has some sort of rod the right size and strength to do this. I suspect there is more than one bent ratchet extension out there.

Once installed, it is an excellent product.

by:

Excellent product overall! I constantly tow various items that require different size hitch balls. This conversion ball system has made switching ball sizes extremely easy and a time saver. After a year of use there is little to no signs of wear. I would highly recommend this product to a friend!

by:

I have been using "convert-a-ball" for about 25 to 30 years now, unfortunately, when
I sell the vehicle that it is attached to (after explaining to the new owner), the setup has always gone with the rig . . . I also always get the SS version of them, because of the add'l strength provided & the non rust feature. Wouldn't have anything else.
I still have the original "convert-a-ball" mounted on my 1977 J20 Jeep. Still in use!

by:

The interchangeable hitch balls are a great time saver. No more wrenched to change ball from one size to another. Often I use the 2 5/16” and 2” multiple times in one day. Only need a knife point, a writing pen or a screwdriver to push the ball pin enough to pull the pin enough to remove the ball. Works great. Well worth the price.

by:

I needed a multi ball for my trucks pintle hitch and Lexis at etrailer hooked me up with a convert a ball that works great.
Thanks lexis

by:

Excellent product. I have hauled a variety of farm trailers and just takes a few moment to switch. The ability to take the ball off and cover the shank has saved some pants from a lot of grease.

by:

This hitch ball set has been an outstanding upgrade for me. I'm still kicking myself for waiting so many years to try the Convert-a-Ball system. Definitely worth the money!

by:

Excellent product. My previous convert-a ball system was chrome plated but I much prefer the stainless . The chrome plating wears off after a few moths of use and you are left with a rusty hitch ball . The convert-a ball system is the ONLY way to go if you have multiple trailers with different hitch ball sizes. Great price and extraordinarily quick shipping from the good folks at etrailer.

by:

Just received the balls yesterday. Installed the spindle on my hitch fit like a glove. Should be the easiest transition between trailers that I ever had in the past. Now I have (2) extra receivers that I have to store or give away :)
Thank you,

by:

THIS CONVERT A BALL SET SAVES A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY.THE SET COME WITH THE 3 MOST COMMON SIZED HITCH BALLS. VERY EASY EVEN FOR ME, JUST PULL THE PIN TAKE OFF THE BALL AND PUT THE SIZE YOU WANT ON THE SHANK.PUT THE PIN BACK IN YOU ARE FINISHED AND DOWN THE ROAD.

by:

Exactly what I wanted. Stainless is the way to go. I will say I have had this type ball before. (steel) the rubber o ring on the cross pin appears to be the only thing holding the pin in when not being used to tow a trailer. After 7 years the o ring rotted out and the ball bounced off. Lesson: when not in use keep it out of the elements and this thing will last forever!! Awesome product! E trailer has the best customer service around. Ordered online and had this in hand in 4 days! And that was choosing the cheapest shipping option possible!

Thank you E Trailer!!
David

by:

These are very nicely made and well machined. I like the versatility this set provides for towing multiple trailers. I have a travel trailer that uses the 2 5/16 ball and a utility trailer that uses a 2" ball. I no longer need multiple ball mounts. Just swap the ball & go.

by:

This is great I love the concept of not having to change out a different ball or have three hitches laying around every time I pull something different, ( i have three different trailers ) I'm also happy I went with the stainless steel it looks great and should remain that way for years to come! Thank you!

by:

The kind of balls you need...A little pricey maybe... But then again they are stainless. I feel it's worth it. Buy them! Buy the case to put 'em in and store it behind the seat of your truck. If there is ever a chance that you will use them it is cheaper this way than any other. I have towed trailers that require all 3 of these sizes, and use 2 sizes on a regular basis. Just came back from a 200 mile bumpy dirt road trip with 3,000lbs and my 2" ball is still shiny new. I also highly recommend the "cushioned" ball mount to go with it. I have used the $250 aluminum rapid hitch setup and now I won't use it again. This setup is the way to go. No sloppy jerky movements and aluminum that chips and dents and needs to be polished. Great Product, Great Price, Great Experience, Great etrailer!!!

by:

Always preparedThe 3-ball convert-a-ball system and cushioned ballmount was the first first and so far only ballmount and ball set I've purchased. I normally only use the 2-5/16" ball but it's nice to know the others are there when I need them. I went to go pick up a trailer from a friend once. He told me it had a 2" hitch but it was really 1-7/8". I had brought the complete kit just in case. He was amazed at how fast and easy it was to change ball sizes. With the 10k rating it will easily handle anything I'll ever tow.

by:

I normally don't write reviews however, I was so thoroughly impressed with the products I felt it necessary to write one. As I said, I was very impressed with not only the products themselves but also with the promptness of the delivery of my order. I purchased the flash self locking, aluminum ball mount part #dtbm4600, as well as the stainless convert-a-ball part#902B. The quality of each of these products is spectacular and I can't wait to try them out! I would highly recommend!

by:

Would have been 5 star but stainless steel pin and stainless steel balls, then comes with a zinc nut and lock washer...had to go buy a stainless nut and lock washer....love the product, cover fits snug and stays on even at 75mph...case is awesome and balls are well made...overall great product....please change this to have a stainless steel nut and lock washer....

  • Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set 902B Ball Mount Compatibility
The Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set # 902B can install on any class of ball mount that has a 1-inch diameter ball hole and whose ball platform is not too thick for the shank which is 2-1/4-inches long. This multi-ball part will fit properly on a ball platform up to 1-1/8-inches thick. I confirmed this with Convert-A-Ball. This item is rated for 10,000-lbs towing no matter which ball size is installed. For example, the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount Class IV Ball Mount # AMSC2 has a...

With that wide of a range of tongue weight and the lift of your F-150, I recommend the Reese Weight Distribution w/out Shank item # RP66021. This system works with trailer's weighing up to 8,000 lbs and tongue weights within the range of 400 lbs - 800 lbs. This might be a little stiff with your boat trailer but any lower on the bottom end will put you below the effective range for your camper. • Determining Correct Ball Mount for 2007 Honda Odyssey to Tow Pop Up Camper
The way to determine the correct amount of rise (or drop) needed to tow a trailer level there are a couple of measurements needed. First you would measure from the ground up to the top of the receiver opening on the trailer hitch. Then, with the trailer level, measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. If the trailer is higher the difference is the amount of rise you will need. And if the vehicle is higher the difference is the amount of drop you would need. On the 2007 Honda...
