Video Transcript for Review of Equal-i-zer Trailer Hitch Ball - Trailer Hitch Ball - EQ91-00-6080

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this two-inch hitch ball for the Equalizer Weight Distribution Systems. This has an 8,000 pound weight capacity. Now this trailer hitch ball's designed for use on the Equalizer Weight Distribution Systems. Basically this ball will attach to your weight distribution head. It is a sturdy steel construction.

And then you can see it has a nice durable, rust-resistant, double chrome plating to it. Also, if you notice the lock washer and the nut for installing it is all included. Put your washer on, then go ahead and put your nut on and tighten that down for it to the correct specs. Again, this is a two-inch diameter. Weight capacity which will be stamped on the top of the ball is 8,000 pounds.

And a few measurements on this. We're gonna measure the shank dimensions. So if we do the overall length of the shank is right at two and a quarter inches long. And the diameter of it is right at one and a quarter inches. But that should do it for the review on this two-inch hitch ball for your Equalizer Weight Distribution Systems with the 8,000 pound weight capacity..

I ordered a ball hitch, ball, trailer wiring harness and 1 7/8" socket. The customer service was outstanding. I mentioned that I needed my order quickly. The rep I worked with researched and found one of the items I ordered was out of stock and would delay the shipment. The rep helped me rework the order and gave special attention to making sure this was done with minimal price increase. She really went the extra mile. The next day I decided I wanted to add on a wiring tester. This meant cancelling and re-booking the order. The rep, a different one this time, took special care to get everything right and make sure I didn't lose any of the items prior to cancelling the original order. The order came very quickly - and that was with free shipping - and the quality of the items is excellent. I only have two concerns with the order. 1) Be wary of installing the ball on the ball hitch. For the ball I ordered, the manufacturer requires 430 lb. ft. of torque. You will likely have a difficult time finding a torque wrench that handles over 300 lb. ft. If you do find one, plan on forking out several hundred dollars for it. You will either have to improvise or find a mechanic who is also likely to improvise as they may not have the proper equipment. This is the one thing I didn't plan for. 2) By no fault of the reps, they had to cancel then re-book the order just to add a $5 item. That points to a very cumbersome order taking system. It adds a lot of unnecessary hassle and may introduce errors into the order. Having said this, the positive of this experience far outweighs the two negative points.

Figured out on Saturday what type of anti-sway hitch I needed to order, receive and install by Wednesday night. Tried another site, they couldn't meet the deadline, turned to google and discovered etrailer. Called at 1 PM on Saturday and talked to Steve Z, he got the order placed, and promised to check the status and follow up with me on Sunday. Everything was delivered on Tuesday and that night the hitch was installed, a day ahead of schedule.

I don't expect to have a high need for towing / trailering, but when I do I'll be checking and calling etrailer first. On a scale of 1 to 10 their customer service is a 15.

Requires a 1-7/8 inch THIN WALL socket to install on a weight distribution hitch.

by:

The new ball is perfect, I had trouble finding a wrench to remove the the original ball from the ball mount. Once I got the proper sized wrench everything went smoothly.

by:

Great quality, fast delivery and reasonable price. The representative I talked with was very knowledgeable. I'm glad I but both this and the anti-sway trailer set up from etrailer!

by:

great fit and shipped fast!

  • Recommended Weight Distribution and Brake Controller for a 2014 Airstream Sport 16
The hitch weight of the 2014 Airstream Sport 16 is 350 lbs while dry. This will likely increase to around 500ish while loaded. While towing the 2014 Airstream Sport 16 with your 2016 Volkswagen Touareg, a weight distribution system will be a good ideal as it will help with braking and trailer sway which can be a bigger issue on these smaller trailers. I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0600 with the 2" Hitch Ball part # EQ91-00-6080. This is a great system...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 2019 Jayco Jay Flight 195RB
The weight distribution system I recommend for your 2019 Jayco Jay Flight 195RB is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0600. The reason I recommend this system for you is because of how well it functions and how easy it is to install. The Fastway e2 is one of the best systems on the market for the money and it does not require any drilling into the frame for installation like other systems can. It uses trunnion spring bars for optimal ground clearance which you will...

  • Best Weight Distribution System for a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe
The general rule of thumb is that if the gross weight of the trailer is more than 50% of the gross weight of the vehicle than the use of a weight distribution system is recommended. According to my research, your 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe can weigh between 3,904-4,085 lbs therefore I do recommend using a weight distribution system. The best system for the money that we have for you is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-0600. In order to use this system you will also need...

  • Can Weight Distribution System be Rated Too High
A weight distribution system's rating isn't directly related to the capacities of the tow vehicle. If you make sure the system is appropriate for the loaded trailer's weight and the loaded trailer is within the capacities of the vehicle then you'll be just fine. So your concern here isn't the 500 pounds tongue weight rating of your 2016 Toyota 4Runner. Instead you need to make sure the system is appropriate for the new trailer. The best way to do this is to find its loaded tongue weight....

  • Will 6,000 Pound Fastway System Work for 2018 Sonic Venture 169VBH
When it comes to choosing the correct weight distribution hitch the most important factor is tongue weight. Ideally you want your loaded tongue weight, and you want to measure using a scale like the # e99044. We can, however, estimate based on the information you gave me. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of your trailer weight. At your GVWR of 4,000 lbs that would be 400-600 lbs. After looking up the 2018 Sonic Venture 169VBH it looks like the dry tongue weight is 410 lbs, so you should...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation For 3,000 lb GVWR Trailer
There is a weight distribution hitch you can use with your nearly 3,000 lb GVWR trailer, though I do have to mention that the owners manual of a 2016 Ranger Rover Sport says it is not recommended to use a weight distribution hitch with this vehicle. But if you decide to, what you can use is a hitch from Fastway: - Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0600 The Fastway # FA92-00-0600 is for total tongue weights between 200 lbs and 600 lbs, which is right in line...

I have a solution for you. This model Fastway system will perform just like your current weight distribution system. The # FA92-00-0600 system has a tongue weight range between 250-600 lbs and will install to your trailer using no-drill, bolt on clamps. The hitch does require a hitch...

It looks like the 2017 Palomini 177BH has a gross weight rating of 3,921 if loaded to its maximum capacity. At that weight the tongue weight would be 421 pounds which is just under 11 percent of the gross trailer weight. Of course if you are not loaded to the max capacity then the tongue weight would be less. Either way that 421 pounds is still under the tongue weight capacity of your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk which you indicated is 450 pounds. But for weight distribution you also...

  • Weight Distribution to Reduce Sag When Towing with 2019 Toyota RAV4
While we don't have any suspension enhancement components that fit your 2019 Toyota RAV4 at this time (September 2019) we have a better way to fight rear suspension sag from towing a heavier trailer. For that you'd want a weight distribution system. The hitches for your vehicle like the Draw Tite part # DT82QR are rated for weight distribution as well.
