Bunk Boards

These carpeted bunk boards provide hull support for your boat during transport and storage. Each 6-foot-long board is wrapped in weather-resistant, marine-grade black carpet. You can run the bunk boards front to back for traditionally shaped hulls or side to side for flat-bottom boats, kayaks and inflatables.

To attach the bunk boards to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use existing brackets or a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10000G-4, CE10001G-4 or C10002G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the bunk boards at different heights. In addition, they enable the bunk boards to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

This is my second order of bunk boards from etrailer. Solid products at a better price than I could find elsewhere. Quick delivery, too. This time I replaced two 12 foot boards with four 6 footers, and used a bottom steel plate to lock them together. Working great. (There are still 2 mounting spots for each board.. so I don’t anticipate any issues). These aren’t made with pressure treated lumber, but that’s what I have to use because aluminum pontoons can be damaged by lumber treatment chemicals. Better to be safe than sorry.
So I’ve just resolved to myself that replacing my bunk boards will be routine maintenance going forward. Thus far I’m getting at least 4 to 6 years each, and several longer than that. And it’s nice to get reasonably priced replacements from etrailer. (Sure, I could install those fancy synthetic boards and they would last forever. But my trailer has 8 bunk boards, including the two 12 footers. It would be very, very, very expensive. Not worth it. I’ll stick with using etrailer.)

Quick delivery great price for trailer bunks

by:

First off, I want to say that the products that I ordered from etrailer.com were of high quality and were easy to install, and lets not forget about the fast shipping and my favorite - the personal touch added to the email communications where each one is signed by a human (rather than something generic).

My project itself entailed replacing the two (original) vertical mount 4' bunks on my boat trailer (see the attached pictures). These were set-up to hold a 15' sailboat. I recently purchased a 12' (plastic) jon boat, and I felt that the jon boat needed better support on the trailer so that it didn't warp or dent.

After doing a lot of research, I decided to go with two horizontal mount 6' bunks. They were pre-finished at a cost less than if I were to purchase the individual components (wood, glue, carpet, staples, etc.) and do the assembly work myself. Attaching the hardware and mounting them to the trailer was a snap - see the attached pictures for the finished setup.

Easy to install, holding up fine after 1 year.

by:

product was excellent. However E-trailer failed to meet their expedited delivery promise (a week late) after I never received my original order. They were very unresponsive when I contacted them on the issue. Poor customer service.

by:

I can't think of one thing I could want that would be better besides the saleslady Lori coming and installing the glide slides for the 2 pairs and installing the bunks on the trailer. Items are as stated and the quality was better than I could have done it if I bought the wood, cut it and carpeted it. My local trailer place was 2 weeks out and Lori walked me through the shipping process to get the product faster than normal but cheaper than "Next Day". Great advice. I think I found my new trailer store for the next time I need something trailer.

Prompt service.Quality product

by:

Good product. Boards appear straight and carpeting is well fit.

by:

Exactly what I wanted. Arrived quickly. Installed with no problem.
Replaced broken bunk board.

by:

Easy to find just what I needed...placed the order...was informed during the shipping process...and all parts arrived fast and in perfect condition!

by:

Packaging was on par, arrived when expected and overall a great replacement for my worn out bunks!

by:

Came on time. All parts were shipped. Exactly what I needed . Each time I’ve ordered from etrailer, it’s has been the best pricing and delivered in time

by:

Great product, super fast delivery!!!

by:

I bought PWC trailer bunks last year. Shipping and packing was very good and installation went well. I can't really comment on quality because bunks usually are used for years but these seemed no different from my old ones that were somewhat worn so I don't see having any quality issues in the future with these.

Good

Product is working well!

by:

Needed replacement bunks for our small trailer. The 6' 2x4" CE Smith CE27840 bunks from etrailer are priced right, are good quality and did the job. They also arrived well packed in just a few days. Good job etrailer!

Yes, all products are as expected.Thank you.

by:

Made well. Installed but have not launched the boat yet to see how it slides on them. I will see how long they hold up.

by:

Great customer service, prompt and on-time delivery. Very satisfied.

by:

After comparing a wide variety of prices for bunk boards I found etrailer to have te best price and shipping costs available. Items arrived quickly and just as described. Thank you for a great value.

Great

by:

They work great.

by:

Bought these for simplicity even though in my opinion they are overpriced for what they are. A pressure treated 2x4 and some exterior carpet or old fire hose (likely for free from fire station) will get it done cheaper. My complaint about these is etrailer's recommended brackets, which BARELY fit onto thexe 2x4 bunks. The mounting holes are very close to the outside edge of the bunks, and you are mounting them with very large lag screws (not included with these or the brackets).

by:

Good quality and received as described.

by:

I need to repair my small boat trailer. The bunk boards were straight with a good covering as shown in picture. No complaints

by:

The products are very good! But they forgot to send me a part of my order( I needed to call to request the missing part ) when the missed part arrive I checked and it is open no plastic cover ( nothing cover to protect the part ).

by:

As described, arrived well protected. I guess I was hoping these would be glued in place as well. I know that's not in the description. I've seen new PWC trailers where the carpet is glued down and it looked really nice. The carpet on these is fluffy and soft, and a good upgrade from the outdoor carpet I had covering mine. You'll want to drill holes for the lag screws that go into the brackets that hold these to the trailer. If you want a 1" deep hole, wrap electrical tape 1" from the tip of your drill bit and you'll stop at 1" each hole.

by:

Look great, priced good and arrived very quick!

  • How To Choose the Correct Roller or Carpeted Bunk Boards for a Trailer
The size of bunk board or bunk roller you will need for your boat trailer is based off the hull size. However, generally speaking the manufacturer knows what size roller/bunk works best for the boat/trailer. Therefore I recommend using the same size that the trailer came with but it wouldn't hurt to go a bit longer if you have room. If you are switching from rollers to carpeted bunk boards then I would go longer. For the carpeted bunk board option we have part # CE27800 which are 36" long,...

  • Bunk Boards or Roller Bunks and Brackets for Boat Trailer and 26 Cuddy Cabin Boat
I don't believe there is a style of trailer called a low-tide trailer. Most of what you find on an internet search of that term is a broken boat trailer, so the gentleman may have been telling him his trailer was broken or soon to be broken. I've never seen bunk boards resting directly on the frame, so I recommend getting some bunk brackets. I recommend the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies - Galvanized Steel - 13" - Qty 4 # CE10002G-4 along with the CE Smith U-Bolts -...

  • Do the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards Come Pre-Drilled for Installation
The carpeted bunk boards, # CE27840, come without any holes drilled so you would need to drill to attach brackets and/or directly to the trailer. The reason they are not pre-drilled is because different trailers have different mounting location requirements and CE Smith would not be able to pre-drill for every application. You can use the bolster brackets # CE10000G-4 to mount these bunk boards.

  • Longest CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards and Are They Pressure Treated
The longest CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards are the 7 feet (84 inch) part # CE27845. The closest we can get to the 103 inches you need is with a 6 foot # CE27840 and 3 foot # CE27800, which comes out to 109 inches. These bunk boards are not pressure treated, they are made from untreated southern pine, though the carpeting on them is marine-grade and weather resistant. I have added links to a couple video reviews of these boards for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Boat Bunks for a Continental Boat Trailer Carrying a 22 Foot HydroSport
Yes, in addition to 2 x 4 bunk boards like # CE27840, we currently offer a few roller bunks. One I recommend is the Dutton-Lainson deluxe roller bunk # DL21741 because of the non-marking rollers. Also, they are galvanized steel (resists corrosion) and each 5 foot section has a 3,000 pound capacity per pair of rollers. These rollers can be fastened directly to the edge of your existing bunk boards, or the brackets part # DL21742 can be used. You would need 4 of them to mount a pair of roller...

  • How Long of Bunks for a 12 Foot Long Porta Boat
The general rule of thumb is that you want your bunks to extend completely to the stern (rear) of the boat, or even and inch or two beyond. That way the transom has plenty of support as you drive down the road. The bunks can extend as far forward as you like really, but I think you'll find that about half the length of the boat is usually enough as the front of the boat is generally supported by the bow stop on the trailer. • Choosing Carpeted Boat Trailer Bunks vs. Roller Bunks
You will want to choose carpeted boat trailer bunks to more or less match the hull profile of your boat. By this I mean that if the bow end of the hull had a steep upward slope so that only about 12-feet of the boat's total 16-foot length would be resting on the bunks then you should be fine using two 6-foot bunks # CE27840 per side. The boards used by the CE Smith # CE27840 bunk boards are NOT pressure treated. They are constructed of Southern Yellow pine, which offers a high degree of moisture and rot resistance. I used the same bunk boards on my PWC trailer, I installed them 6 years ago and they're still sound.

  • Roller Bunks for a 20 Foot, 6,000 Pound Boat
I recommend using 5 foot long sections of roller bunks # DL21741. Each set is rated at 3,000 pounds so you would have to double up the rollers on each side to have a combined 6,000 pound capacity (assuming each set is holding an equal amount of weight).
