Thanks to Trevor, who understood my Malone Microsport trailer better than I did. Need ubolts to attach boat bunk risers to the frame. When I got the ubolts I checked them on the side rails - and they were too small. I was ready to send them back when I figured I’d check them on the cross members, which go INSIDE the side rails and Voila! Perfect fit. One would think that, having assembled the trailer, I would have remembered that. The risers go on the cross members, not the side rails. Guess that’s why I called to make the order - etailer staff know their stuff! Thanks, Trevor!

@Daniel You're welcome!

by:

Used these as part of a full boat trailer rebuild. They were sized perfectly and of very high quality. After a year of use these are performing excellently.

by:

They where easy to install... Heavy duty ... Worth every penny big to Etrailer...

by:

Good quality product. Unfortunately, I need a shorter u-bolt length to fit the frame on my trailer, so will be returning.

by:

My jetski trailer needed new bunks and hardware, I called these guys to verify what I needed. They hooked my up with good quality parts. I do wish however they would have included the lag screws needed for the bunks.

The product is still working great !

by:

bolted right up. Could not be happier.

by:

Exactly what I needed

by:

Ordering was smooth and shipped out from ETRAILER was lightning fast.
U Bolt and Bolster bracket are heavy duty enough. They should screw down the swivel on bolster bracket a lot more because it was pretty annoying moving around while mounting it.
The guide rail bracket holes were a bit too close to the frame, making it difficult to use a ratchet
end wrench placement and removal difficult. Without using ratchet, it will take you several minutes to put a nut on just one.
Quality is good!

by:

Service and follow up was phenomenal.

by:

Completely updated the axle, suspension, and added roller bunks to my waverunner trailer. Have taken the waverunner in for the winter and back out for the summer one time. All components were great and the trailer rides really well!

by:

Good quality U-bolts and swivel bracket assemblies. They are not a direct fit for my Caulkins trailer. I will have to devise a tapered shim for the bolsters so that they will run parallel to the outside rails. I had not counted on a custom installation.

by:

The U-bolts need to be threaded further up the bolt. It may work ok for larger sized boat trailers that have thicker rails. I have a 16 foot jon boat that has a trailer with rails that are thinner in depth. So matter which way I placed the bracket, the u-bolt would not tighten all the way down. I had to create a spacer to be able to tighten the bracket with the u-bolt. Threading the bolt further would solve the problem.

by:

All the parts came as ordered, very pleased with everything. Got the bunk boards mounted and my boat seems to sit on them as i expected. I purchased stainless steel lag bolts to attach the bunks to the brackets. Parts arrived UPS all packaged in a large box with lots of packing paper, loose items all wrapped nice so nothing got lost.

by:

Shipping box half open. More tape?? bolt package open not all lock washers included. Nothing major. I’ll get another one at Lowes

The products purchased were solid and of good quality. I'm impressed.
We purchased a used Jon boat and are upgrading the trailer and boat to for our satisfaction. We would not hesitate to purchase other products for etrailer. The videos were very helpful and informative. If I can I will add photos of before and after, soon.

by:

GREAT Customer Service!! Seth worked with me to get the exact size and type of bolts needed for the job. Prompt delivery and up to date tracking. This is how a business should handle their customers. Bolts are heady duty galvanized. Will easily replace the rusted bolts that hold the bunk board brackets.

by:

Good quality product. Seems to be well constructed. All parts were included. The best part was not having to hunt down individual components when you can buy a complete set. Packaging was good. This will make installation of bolster brackets for my boat trailer a breeze. I would definitely buy from etrailer in the future.

by:

all expected parts arrived in excellent condition and as promised.
dimensional diagrams for the CE Smith Bolster & Swivel bracket would be helpful for choosing an accurate size.

Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with my order.

by:

Bought several parts from eTrailer to complete this restoration and transformation of a 1958 trailer to suit my needs today. Couldn't have done it in only 4 days without the help from this great company with quality products!

by:

Sturdy with a good galvanized coating. Its holding up well in our coastal environment.

  • Brackets for Adding Additional Bunk Boards to Magic Tilt Galvanized Kayak Trailer
The problem is that your bunks need to face a different direction than what standard boat trailers have so it's hard to have a solution since your setup is unique. That said I don't see why you couldn't use CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10002G-4 attached to the rails front to back on your trailer so that could could mount the bunks. For a U-bolt kit you could then use the part # CE15283GA-4 to secure the brackets.

  • Parts Needed to Convert a Boat Trailer From Rollers to Bunk Boards
This can absolutely be done. While there are not "kits" for doing the conversion, we do have the parts that you will need. These are not kitted together because each boat/trailer combination is different, so it is easier to not kit them. It is recommended to have bunk boards that are at least 50% of the length of your boat. You can have longer boards if you would like, but you want at minimum 50% of the length. Since your boat is 21', you will want bunks that are at least 10.5' long. I...

  • Availability of 7 Feet Long 2 x 4 Carpeted Bunk Boards for a Boat Trailer
The longest carpeted bunk boards we currently offer is 6 feet in length. It's the CE Smith part # CE27840 and each 6-foot long 2x4 is covered in marine grade carpet. You can easily construct some bunks yourself. Go to your local lumberyard and get some yellow pine 2x4x10 boards. You can then purchase some of the marine-grade carpet we offer, like part # CE11372. You'll need one roll per bunk, which means you'll have some scrap left over, which you can utilize as needed for other projects....

This bracket can be installed with CE Smith U-Bolts - Galvanized - 3-13/16" Long x 3-1/16" Wide x 1/2" Diameter - Qty 4 # CE15283GA-4. You will want the proper fit for best load support and function.

  • Can I Use Roller Bunks and Carpeted Bunk Boards Together on Boat Trailer
I'll start off by saying that I've seen quite a few boat trailers that use a combination of rollers like the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 6 Rollers Each - 5' Long - 1,500 lbs - 1 Pair # CE27710 and a carpeted bunk like the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers - 7' Long - 1 Pair # CE27845. The top of the swivel bracket is not something that can be tightened to completely stop the swivel for the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10002G-4. So there is always going to be some swivel in these brackets to ensure that they are always at the correct angle when being loaded. I also wanted to mention that to install these brackets you will need U-bolts, the CE Smith U-Bolts # CE15283GA-4. I have added some links below to video reviews for you to check out as well...

  • Picking Out Roller Bunks for 2002 Bayliner Boat Trailer
I don't have a way to look up what length bunk boards your trailer has but best would be to measure your boards and then go with the bunk length that matches. For 5 foot bunks you'd want the part # CE27710 and for 4 foot part # CE27700. You can attach the rollers to your current bunks and it will sit a little higher but all that means is that you'd need to have trailer a little deeper in water when launching. But since rollers have less resistance it won't be by much.

Since you have 8 foot wooden bunks already, you can indeed just mount the roller bunks directly to the wooden bunks with 3/8" lag screws, and you're correct you'd need four of the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 4' Long # CE27700. The lag screws are something you'd have to pick up at your hardware store, and that's the route I'd go since it's just easier overall (and just as safe) than removing your current bunks. But if you're more comfortable removing your current bunk boards...

  • Recommended Placement of Bunk Boards on Bayliner Capri 1950
After completing a very thorough image search online, it appears that the most common bunk placement is about 2/3 of the way between the keel and the ridge that runs along the side of the hull. Rather than on end, most of the bunks I saw had the board meeting the hull on the flat. This disperses more of the weight of the boat along the bunk. The # CE27820 bunk boards you mentioned would be perfect. I'd also recommend using # CE10001G-4 bunk brackets and # CE15283GA-4 Galvanized u-bolts.
