Roller Bunks

CE Smith's roller bunks convert your boat trailer's guide-ons from bunk board style to roller style. Instead of sliding on and off your trailer's bunk boards, your boat will smoothly roll. This not only simplifies the process of loading and unloading, but it also protects your boat's hull against scratches. Mounted in a rust-resistant galvanized steel channel, the durable rubber rollers absorb road shock during trailering.

Installation

The roller bunks are pre-assembled and can be mounted directly to your existing bunk boards (mounting hardware is sold separately). If you want to replace your bunk boards and attach the roller bunks to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10003G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the roller bunks at different heights. In addition, the brackets enable the bunks to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

Galvanized Steel

Steel parts are galvanized by being hot-dipped in zinc after they have been stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

Great customer service and quick delivery. I have used etrailer for many things and have always had a good experience.

by:

I ordered the 4' roller bunks and received them the next day
Installed them on wooden bunks. I pulled my boat this morning and can't believe how well they work. I wood install them again if I had another trailer I couldn't get my boat on with carpeted bunks. Thank you Tammie for helping me out.

by:

rollers work great, I'm 85 years old and can now push my boat off the trailer with one hand. I fastened the rollers over top the wooden bunks.

by:

Well made and shipped quickly. Great customer service.

by:

Worked great on my 1967 runabout trailer. Used the original attachment hardware, as it was just the old rollers that were damaged. Arrived quickly and easy to install.

by:

ETRAILER ships FAST! Rollers are on a galvanized frame with holes for mounting. ETRAILER and Smith also offer other mounting options. Rollers appear to be solid yet not so hard to mar fiberglass hulls.

by:

Great company to deal with. Excellent communication. Im a general contractor and appreciate when a company delivers the goods in more ways than one.

by:

Mounted a pair of these on the rear of a new Harbor Freight trailer and it has made loading and unloading my 10' Bass Raider boat a breeze. I'm a complete novice with this type of thing too, so it's saying a lot that I installed them with little effort or instructions to figure it out. Highly recommend. The product is well worth what it's priced at.

After a year of using this product on my trailer, I recommend it even more. I unloadload my 10 Bass Raider boat easily with no assistance and with minimum effort thanks to these!

by:

Added rollers to my dock to make loading and unloading easier. Shipment was timely and the price was competitive.

by:

Well made and perfect for boat storage.

by:

Thank you, etrailer.com for providing the solution to my problem in a fast, efficient, and effective way. I have a 12-foot long inflatable fishing boat that I carry on a utility trailer. Loading and unloading was taxing my 63-year-old body! These roller bunks fit perfectly on the 4' gate of the trailer and, with a small, inexpensive winch, loading and unloading my boat is now quick and easy. Although used in a way not traditionally intended, it is the perfect solution for me. Thanks again! I will definitely look to you again as future needs arise for creative solutions.

by:

thank you for beings so fast you Guys are great thanks again

by:

I love these roller bunks. Purchased two pairs of the four-foot size to mount on my floating dock to park my two Yamaha Waverunners on to keep them high and dry. They work and perform more than perfectly. I mounted each bank of rollers on a 2"x6" board for the required added clearance at 23" inches apart on center. Perfect. They can be rolled off easily by hand by one person, once marine grade grease(optional) was applied to each roller mechanism with a grease gun. Wipe them off, and there is no mess. I am actually going to mount another two pair on to a plywood spare removable platform on a general-use utility trailer, making it unecessary to purchase a usually poorly built purpose-built trailer. Nearly one year out in the open on the Florida Gulf Coast at the beach with zero rust to-date. Unheard of in these parts. Enough said. Thank you so very much for you help with such a fine product. J.P.

by:

Low water levels made my board bunks usless, my boat loaded with minimal effort using these roller bunks. Thanks!

still in good working condition thanks for askin

by:

Unless your boat's bottom is perfectly flat for the length of the rollers, these will have only a few points of contact and stress your hull. My hull is very slightly curved, which my bunks easily conformed to, but these rollers did not. And they didn't make it easier to push off the boat.

by:

The personnel (specifically Lisa D) and customer service is excellent. I highly recommend CE Smith Roller Bunks and all of the products at etrailer.

by:

Excellent,just what I needed.
I unloaded
the boat, took the trailor back to my house and put them on in 30mins
Good on shipment time they arrived two days later

The bunk rollers still work great, just back down the ramp and the boats rolls off with ease

by:

Rollers not only arrived as promised, the quality was beyond expectations. I’m so impressed that l’ll be forwarding pictures of the before, during, completion, and as a bonus, I may even attempt a launch and recovery video. Hopefully, all by the end of the week! Thank You

by:

They work great, be careful, boat will fly off trailer if not secured as the boat is launched into the water.

by:

Purchased Roller Bunks for the boat trailer. My 18 ft. Sundance slides off with ease. These seem to be the most sturdy bolt on bunks on the market. Great price and super fast free shipping made it worthwhile shopping here.

by:

Great product! I would recommend anyone use these rollers to replace their carpeted bunks.

by:

The product is exactly as advertised and cheaper than the other places we looked. Free shipping is also a plus. The roller bunks came within days and we are very pleased with the product and the company. This will be our first stop for any other parts we may need.

by:

Installed the bunk rollers and they work great. Thanks for adjusting my order I really appreciate it.

by:

I am very pleased with these rollers. The are build very strong and I am sure will last a long time. It has been a pleasure working with you. Another thing I really liked was the set up you gave me to track the shipment. It was the first time I've seen this, and it works so easy. I will sure plan on using you for anything else I need for my boat.

Thanks Gerry

  • How To Choose the Correct Roller or Carpeted Bunk Boards for a Trailer
The size of bunk board or bunk roller you will need for your boat trailer is based off the hull size. However, generally speaking the manufacturer knows what size roller/bunk works best for the boat/trailer. Therefore I recommend using the same size that the trailer came with but it wouldn't hurt to go a bit longer if you have room. If you are switching from rollers to carpeted bunk boards then I would go longer. For the carpeted bunk board option we have part # CE27800 which are 36" long,...

  • Roller Bunk Recommendations for Replacing 13.5 feet of Roller Bunks
I'd probably do two sets of 5 foot bunks like part # CE27710 and just allow the amount of gap needed between the two bunks. Or if you wanted the bunks not to have any gaps between them you could go with an additional set of 4 foot bunks part # CE27700 and you could trim them down to match the length needed.

  • Fit of Hobie Mirage Outback Kayaks on Malone MAL25FR LowBed MicroSport Trailer
The crossbars of the Malone # MAL25FR LowBed MicroSport trailer are 78 inches in length. From what I found online, the Hobie Mirage Outback kayaks are about 34 inches wide which would provide plenty of room as the bunks are width adjustable and can be moved side to side as needed. The 100 lb weight of each fully rigged kayak would fall well within the capacity of the trailer, so there'd be no worries there. As for rollers, you could use bunk rollers like # CE27700 which could be mounted...

  • Roller Bunks For 8 Foot Long Bunk Boards on Jet Ski Trailer
Since you have 8 foot wooden bunks already, you can indeed just mount the roller bunks directly to the wooden bunks with 3/8" lag screws, and you're correct you'd need four of the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 4' Long # CE27700. The lag screws are something you'd have to pick up at your hardware store, and that's the route I'd go since it's just easier overall (and just as safe) than removing your current bunks. But if you're more comfortable removing your current bunk boards...

  • Can Trailer with 4 Foot Bunks be Replaced with 5 Foot Roller Bunks
Normally we'd recommend replacing your 4 foot wood bunks with the same size roller bunks like with the part # CE27700 that you referenced but if you have room for a longer roller bunk you certainly could do that like with the # DL21741 which is a 5 foot roller instead. You'd just have to take some measurements and see if going with a slightly longer bunk would be feasible.

  • How Many 4 Foot Long Roller Bunks for 8 Foot Long Wood Bunk
Yes, if you have 8 foot long bunks currently then you'd want to install a total of two 4 foot rollers on each bunk like what comes with the # CE27700. So you'd need a quantity of two of this part number and you'd be set.

I recommend using the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks - Galvanized Steel - Qty 4 # CE10003G-4 to support it. • Will Galvanized Bunk Rollers Rust if Always Submerged in Water
The CE Smith Roller Bunks # CE27700 are made with galvanized steel which is designed to resist rust. However, it's not 100 percent rust-proof. Over exposure to water, like keeping them submerged all the time, will speed up the process. It's impossible to say how long they'll last but the short answer is yes, they will eventually rust. One suggestion to prolong this is to build the dock in sections so that you can switch the parts that are submerged periodically. This way the parts...
