The part number you linked to, #RM92ZR is direct-connect style base plate kit. That is not intended to match to a Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar, #RM-501 which is designed to fit crossbar style base plate. You need to select part number, #RM32ZR.

We can't recommend you drill into the base plate to mount the breakaway switch as that would void the warranty of the base plate kit. Instead I would recommend mounting the switch to the bumper of the vehicle.
