4.80x12 Wheel and Tire Combo Recommendation for a Kayak Trailer

Question:

My small kayak trailer has 4.80x12 tires on a 5 lug rim. 2 5/8inch between a jointing lugs. The tire measures is 20inch across. When buying a new tire spare is the 20inch the real measurement, because I see tires for sale that say they are 21? Can I use the tire that is 21 inches? By the way, the hitch for my optima that I received from you works great!

When buying a replacement wheel and tire you will first want to match the tire size you have, which would be 4.80x12, and then match the bolt pattern of your current wheels so that the wheel will mount up.

I attached a link to a page that has all of the whee/tire combos we carry that are confirmed to fit as a replacement, but the closest one to the one you referenced would be the part # AM30660.

This has the same tire size as what you have and has a 5 lug bolt pattern like what you have as well. Check out the review video I attached for more info.

Glad the hitch you bought from us worked out for you!

Since this is the same tire size as what you have it will be the correct overall diameter. The wheel/tire I recommended will be 20.7 inches in diameter when inflated.
