Class S Compliant Cable Snow Chains for 2006 Acura MDX with 235/65-17 Tires
Question:
I just want to confirm whether the PW2016C snow cable meets the SAE Class S requirement. When I ed my car model 2006 Acura MDX 235/65-17 from your website, the PW2016C came up as a possible choice of cable to be used on my MDX. The summary description also cited it meets the SAE Class S spec which as I understand is a requirement for my MDX. However, after I clicked to the webpage with greater description of the product, that webpage does not specify it meets the Class S requirement. Please confirm. Thanks.

I have confirmed with Glacier Chain that the snow chain cables you asked about, part # PW2016C are indeed Class S compatible. These are exactly the type of traction device recommended in your owners manual (on page 256 of the online version.)
The cables should be installed on the drive wheels, using rubber tensioners like part # PW99. The tensioners are sold in pairs, and are sold separately from the cable chains you asked about.
I'll link you to our Tire Chain FAQ article that contains lots of helpful information about tire chains, including a state by state breakdown of tire chain regulations. I've also linked you to an installation video showing the chains being installed on a similar vehicle. The procedure for your MDX will be identical.
