7-Way Recommendation for a 2001 Dodge Durango with Factory Wiring  

Question:

The socket that i took off the vehicle does not have a wire harness coming off of it, just a place to plug a female wiring harness into.

Check out the picture I attached, if what you have on your 2001 Dodge Durango looks like it will attach to that then the # 20135 would work well on your vehicle.

I have a 06 Dodge Durango I have a factory towing package but I don’t have the trailer wiring at all what do I need for the wiring the 7/4 plug I don’t have any trailer wiring for the truck at all I just have the towing package

If you contact your Dodge dealer with your VIN number they can provide you a build sheet with your included accessories. If you had a factory tow package you would have had a 7-way and 4-way electrical connector and a 2" hitch reciever at the bumper. I suspect that someone bolted up an aftermarket reciever. Take a look at the Hopkins # HM42190 wiring kit. If your truck has some prewiring behind the bumper you might get away with this kit. Otherwise you will need the Tekonsha # 118390 wiring kit and add to the # ETBC7 kit for 7-way connections.
