Anti-Rattle for a Bike Carrier and Hitch Extender on a 2012 Nissan Rogue
Question:
There is insufficient clearance for my new bike rack to be lifted into the vertical position with the vehicle Iam mounting it on. If I use a hitch extender, is there any way to keep it from rattling, similar to the anti rattle pin that came with the rack? My rack is a Swagman XTC4. My vehicle is a 2012 Nissan Rogue. Thanks.

We do have anti-rattle devise that you could use but you need to know that the use of a hitch extender will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent.
The Class III hitches for your 2012 Nissan Rogue have tongue weight capacities of 300 to 350 pounds. The reduced capacity from using an extender, such as # HE06, would take that down to 150 to 175 pounds, depending on the hitch.
This means the combined weight of your Swagman XTC4, # S64665 at 60 pounds, and the weight of the bikes cannot exceed the reduced capacity.
If you do the math and are still under the reduced capacity when using an extender then for anti-rattle to limit movement, you can use the Blue Hitch Immobilizer, # BX88224, which would eliminate the most movement.
