Does a Wire Have to Be Run to the Battery to Install the Curt Trailer Harness # C56033
Question:
Hi, I was wondering, being a bit lazy, if I can connect the hot wire to the dc power outlet in the back on the passenger side of the 2014 Nissan Rogue instead of running it to the battery seeing I have to open it up anyways for the T connection, providing I leave access to the fuse in the bottom back tray somewhere? Or would that put too much strain on the outlet if both are used at the same time and blow that fuse? Just asking and thanks.......the lazy guy.

We understand your laziness, routing a wire from the rear of a vehicle to the battery seems a bit involved considering how easy the rest of the wiring harness part # C56033 install is. But you have to do it. If you don't run the power to the battery you could overdraw the circuit you attach it to and blow the fuse or even potentially damage the circuit.
I attached an FAQ article to the right with some tips on routing the power wire that you should find informative.
