Using the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier on the Front of a 2006 Dodge Ram

Can this rack be mounted and used on the front of my 06 Dodge ram with a front reciever hitch? How do you keep the motorcycle verticle? does it have to lean against the truck?

The etrailer Motorcycle Carrier for 2 inch Hitch Receiver, item # e98873, will work in a front mount hitch as long as the weight of the motorcycle and the weight of the carrier (58 pounds) will not exceed the capacity of the front mounted hitch or the vehicle frame. Check the hitch and check with your vehicle dealer for these capacities. You will also need to take into account the amount of air that the motorcycle will block to the vehicle cooling system.
The motorcycle is kept vertical by using tie downs. I would recommend the Retractable Ratchet Straps with Push Button Release, item # 34414, which are very nice straps that do not have loose ends to blow around on the front of the vehicle. The motorcycle should not lean against the vehicle in any way.
