Would Switching a Weight Distribution Shank to A longer One Change the Height of a WDS

Question:

I am ordering the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - 18inch Long ITEM # EQ90-02-4500. I currently have the 12inch long shank and am extending it so that I can open my tailgate. When I receive the 18inch shank, I am going to remove the components from the 12inch and place them on the 18, and it makes sense to put the components in the EXACT same location on the 18inch as it is on the 12. Is this correct? 6 inches in length shouldnt affect anything that would require me to raise the components to the next holes, right?

That sounds right to me Travis, but while you have everything pulled out it wouldn't hurt to re-measure and double-check. The height shouldn't have changed and everything should essentially go as you've described, but If it were me I'd take a quick measurement to double-check.

Could you please tell me what torque the bolts would be for the kit once I put it all back together?

@Travis According to Equal-i-zer the 3/4" shank bolts will need to be tightened to 320 ft-lbs.
