Question:
I have a 2000 explorer xlt 4door with the v6 engine. I was wondering what wiring harness would be used on this truck. I have the hookup connector behind the bumper. Let me know

If your Explorer was originally equipped with a factory 7-way, it would have a US car connector underneath the rear bumper. If it was not equipped with the 7-way, it will have a smaller gray connector that looks like the one in the photo I provided.
If you have the US car connector, you'd use the # 74682 you mentioned. If you have the smaller connector, you'd use # 118241, which would provide a 4-pole trailer connector.
If your trailer uses a 7-way trailer connector and has electric brakes, you'll need to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885 using our brake controller install kit, part # ETBC7.
If the trailer has a 7-way but no brakes, you can install the # 118421 and then use the # 37185 adapter.
