The wire bundle underneath the dash on a 2008 Chevy Silverado will not match up color for color to a brake controller. There will be a bundle underneath the dash above and to the left of the brake pedal with 5 wires colored red, dark blue, light blue, white and orange. The orange wire will not be used.

The red wire on the truck mates with the black on the brake controller, dark blue on truck to blue on brake controller, light blue on truck to red on brake controller and white to white.

We have a page with instructions and pictures on wiring a brake controller to a 2007 new body and up Chevy/GM trucks that I have linked below. The pictures show the bundle pretty clearly and there is a wiring chart to make sure you match the wires correctly.

For a Tekonsha brake controller with the quick disconnect plug, you would use part # 7894, and for Draw-Tite with quick disconnect you would use part # 20127.
