Adjusting a Weight Distribution System for Different Tongue Weights

will a weight distribution system have to be re adjustied every time carrying loads of different weights, im new to all this. thanks

Generally speaking, once the system is set up so that the trailer is properly leveled not much in the way of adjustment is needed.
A weight distribution system is typically rated for a range of tongue weights. For instance, the Reese High Performance Trunnion System, part # RP66021 is rated for trailers with tongue weights ranging from 400 to 800 lbs. If the trailer is loaded to the higher end of that range, the forces applied to the spring bars would be greater than a trailer loaded at the low end and adjustments to the tilt of the weight distribution head might be needed.
If the differences between loads are smaller, it probably would not be necessary to make any adjustments, or perhaps let the chains out an additional chain link or two.
