Does Suspension Sag Need to Be Factored in When Determining Ball Mount Rise/Drop
Question:
When I take the messurement from the groud to top of hitch, I assume the truck should be loaded with the weight it will carry while towing. When I put the 400 lbs of the tongue weight plus the 200 lbs of fushing kit on, the truck sink by 3 in which make a difference in the calculation of euther a rise or a . Am I right. Tks

Since the goal when picking out the correct rise/drop ball mount is to tow the trailer as level as possible you would want to compensate for sag like you mentioned. 3 inches of sag is quite a bit but you'd need to factor it in when towing if that's what you are experiencing. To combat the sag a great option is the Timbern kit part # TDR1500DS which will fit your 2017 Ram 1500 as long as you don't have factory air suspension.
