Will Trailer Hitch Lock # 1480DAT Fit Roadmaster Base Plate Kit #1424-1 on 2003 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
I have a a Roadmaster Mounting Bracket KIT #1424-1 installed on a 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sport and Im trying to locate three hitch receiver locks 2 for the Roadmaster Mounting Brackets and 1 for the Receiver Hitch on my RV that will work with this bracket and the item Im concerned about is the clearance on the inside of the bracket where the receiver lock will through the hole. The head of the mounting bolt #3 interferes slightly with where the #7 draw pin with clip installs through the hole, and this is the space where I want to install the #1480DAT receiver lock. Do you think one of the ends of the #1480DAT receiver lock will clear this mounting bolt head? I also considered receiver lock #40107, but I think the dimensions on each of the end pieces of the lock might be larger making this lock less likely to work for me than lock #1480DAT. Would you agree?

The pins used in the Roadmaster base plate kit # 1424-1 are 5/8 inch diameter pins. The Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, # 1480DAT, is also a 5/8 inch diameter pin. So it will fit the same holes as the regular pins.
The inside pin length on the lock is 2-3/4 inches. The widest part of the end of the pin, the blue part, is 1.22 inches in diameter so a little less than 1-1/4 inches. That means that the blue part will stick up closer to that bolt by 0.59 inches.
I then measure how far the black lock part is above the center line of the pin. It is between 5/8 and 11/16 inches. That would make it approximately 5/16 inches higher than the top of the pin portion.
I do agree, lock # e98882 is probably not the best option due to the limited space.
