How to Route the 4-Way of Tow Ready Harness part # 118605 Out of a Jeep Cherokee

Question:

The 4 flat connector to the trailer is just dangled out the tailgate in this video. Can it be routed thru the same drain plug as the power wire, then run to the hitch connector? I want to use the factory hitch which has a 4 flat/7 spade incorporated. If what I propose can be done I would have to cut off the harness 4 flat and replace with the plug-in for the factory connector.Feasible?Thanks

I would recommend you just route the 4-way of the Tow Ready Harness part # 118605 out the back door when needed. Some people don't like this routing and ask for other ways to route the 4-way, but if you keep the 4-way on the inside of your vehicle when not in use you actually will protect it from the elements, which will greatly reduce the risk of corrosion or damage to the 4-way if it was dangling behind the vehicle.

With that being said, if you really wanted to route the 4-way out of the interior out through the drain plug it would be possible as long as you could fit the 4-way through the plug.
