Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out!

The Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ and the wheel trays, like part # 853-7481 you're looking at, are only rated for 35 lb bikes and there isn't a way to increase that rating. If you have heavier bikes then we'll need to get you squared away with a bike rack that can better handle the extra weight.

I recommend checking out the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU84FR which fits a 2" hitch receiver and can handle bikes weighing up to 60 lbs. This rack also has a unique U-Shaped frame that makes it easier to maneuver your bikes on and off the rack.

If any of your bikes have a front fender then you'll need the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR instead because it has arms that secure bikes by the frame instead of the front wheel. This rack is also compatible with a 2" hitch receiver but it boasts a whopping 80 lbs per bike weight capacity so it can handle bike upgrades for the long haul.

The Trek e-bikes are actually 45 and 40. What's your opinion of the swagman chinook; looks similar to the DoubleTrack Pro that I own. I need 1.25" inch hitch attachment, not 2". Thanks!

@Brian The Swagman Chinook Bike Rack # S64683 is an excellent alternative for your application! It's not a high-end rack but it it's still pretty solid and will get the job done for you.
