Weight Distribution for a 2012 Honda Odyssey Towing a 3,500 Pound Trailer

The first thing you will want to do is check the vehicle owners manual to make sure it can be used with weight distribution. We have recently determined that Honda states many of their vehicles cannot be used with weight distribution because of the uni-body frame.
If it can be used with weight distribution then based on the weights you have listed I recommend a system rated for 200 to 600 pounds tongue weight, # RP66540. With this system you will just need to add a properly sized ball, # 19286, for 2-5/16 inch. To add sway control use # 83660.
For wiring, if your van does not already have a 4-Way you will need to install one, # 118521. Then to add a 7-Way and the wiring for a brake controller you will need # ETBC7. I have included some links showing and explaining the # ETBC7 installation.
For a brake controller I recommend the P2 # 90885. This is one of our most popular controllers because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable.,
