MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizers and Wet Bolt Suspension Kit for a 2013 Redwood RV Redwood 5th Wheel

Question:

I want to replace the springs as well as needing to replace the equalizers. I had an axle flip shackles from spring above equalizer to spring below but I can not get it to go back found bushings on springs and equalizers worn. Is it better to run a heavier spring 8k versus the stock 7k or can it be done with out major surgery. we do travel well loaded because we live in it year round. I am a mechanic and can do the springs and all my self just do not have the tooling to relocate the spring mounts. Im looking to do the morryde 4000 equalizers and wetkit upgrade. 2013 Redwood RW36RL Fifth wheel 36 inch wheel spacing.

Thanks for reaching out, Bret!

If your axles shifted from being located above the equalizers to below your equalizers then it sounds like replacing your bushings, equalizers, and shackle straps will fix the issue. As long as your leaf springs are in good shape you shouldn't need to swap them out either.

The MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 35" Wheelbase # MR29DR will fit your trailer spacing, and then I recommend using the MORryde Upgrade Trailer Kit to replace your bolts and shackles. This comes in two different variations so you just need to choose the one that best matches the length of your shackle straps (center hole to center hole):

- 2-1/4" Shackle Straps # MR46ZR
- 3-1/8" Shackle Straps # MR76ZR

I really like the shackles that come with these kits because at 1/2" thick they are more durable than the factory shackles that come on trailers.

Attached are some videos for you to check out!
