Dual Hitch Adapter And Bike Rack For Behind a RV Motorhome When Flat Towing

Question:

We current flat tow a ford ranger on the back if our ClassA motorhome. The blue ox uses the motorhome provided hitch. We have just purchase two E bikes and need a hitch for the blue ox and bikes rack. What do you recommend. The blue ox goes straight into coach

You are going to want to use the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544, since your Blue Ox Tow Bar # BLU22CR goes straight into the receiver and doesn't have any kind of drop. I also prefer the Malone adapter as it has the anti-rattle built into both receivers.

Since the bike rack is going behind your motorhome and carrying E-Bikes I recommend the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR as it is rated for use behind motorhomes and the frame mounted connection will allow you to attach to the seat post since most E-Bikes have an alternative style frame for the battery.

Bud, the hitch recommended says max trailer weight is 4,000 pounds , the truck is 4500 not sure the weight of the blue ox. The two bikes weight 120. So is that one adequate? Thanks again

@HiB Due to the weight of your Ford Ranger you would need the Gen-y Shank # 325-GH-505. You will want to place this in the raised position so the tow bar can go into the straight shank and the bike rack can be placed in one of the raised receiver openings. This system is rated much higher at 2,000lbs of tongue weight and up to 16,000lbs of total weight.
