Can you use a rubber mat between the hitch base and the truck bed to help eliminate the possibility of the base moving?

I wouldn't attempt to put a rubber mat between the truck bed and the base of the Demco Recon hitch part # DM8550045 as that would diminish how much the bed supports the hitch by the base and would put more stress on the center post attachment. Realistically would it cause problems? That's hard to say but the potential is there so I would not go for it.

There basically is no difference but we have two part numbers for the Curt Crosswing depending on where we have it listed on our website. As a fifth wheel hitch it's part #C92DR or as an adapter for a gooseneck hitch ball part #C32DR.
