Will Demco Recon Work on Above-Bed Gooseneck Hitch With Plate

Question:

I have a 2001 Ford F-350, 8 ft bed. When i got the truck it had a flip up gooseneck ball installed. My question is Can I use the Demco Recon DM8550045? The bed has a 5/16 in plate above the bed that is part of the gooseneck hitch. I do have a bed mat that will go back in if I use the Demco. Attached is a picture of the gooseneck setup.

Thank you for the photo, and the above-bed gooseneck hitch on your 2001 Ford F-350 is absolutely going to be compatible and allow you to use the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045.

The only other thing I wanted to mention was that you mentioned a bed mat. While you can use a mat, the Recon does require full contact with your truck bed, so you would need to cut your mat to fit the Recon, which has a 30-1/2" x 28" footprint.
