Comparing The Dexter T43397007K And T63FR Brake Actuators
Question:
I need to replace an Atwood brake actuator on my boat trailer not sure of model. What is the difference between the taller actuators like the Dexter T43397007K and the long/narrow ones like the Dexter T63FR?

We can certainly help you replace your Atwood Actuator. The Dexter # T43397007K and # T63FR actuators you mentioned are going to be similar in that they are made for trailers with drum brakes and they both will bolt on to a 3" tongue. As far as the height/ dimension of the actuator itself, it really just comes down to design and the placement of the internal components. The # T43397007K has the master cylinder connections above the tongue, whereas the # T63FR is more for trailers where connections are inside/underneath the tongue. The # T43397007K will also fit any of the standard trailer ball sizes, while the # T63FR will only fit a 2" ball.
I am not sure exactly what model Atwood actuator you have, but we would want to make sure the replacement is of similar design, just to keep things simple. If you can provide a model number and/or pictures of your actuator, that will be the best way to narrow down the correct replacement.
