Adding Crossbars To A Teardrop Trailer

Question:

I am looking to adding roof rack on a custom tear trailer and need to mount these are the sides, so vertical, not on top of the trailer. Will these still work that way? If not, anything that can be mounted that way that you know of? I attached an example, but these pictures on a an Aero camper and they custom fab these brackets.

The Rhino-Rack Artificial Rain Gutters # 739A are a universal fit since you'd be drilling through the wall of the trailer and bolting them in place. The only issue you might have is just with the bolt length. If the wall is too thick then you'll just need to reach out to Rhino-Rack or check with your local hardware store. I definitely recommend using some butyl tape # AL28FJ on the back of the gutter bracket to help prevent water from leaking in. This comes with a gasket but butyl tape will spread through the threads of the bolts to ensure it's watertight.

With these gutters in place you should be able to mount some gutter-style # RL210S2 feet and appropriately sized crossbars.
