Recommended Slide Out Awning For A Slide Out With Limited Mounting Bracket Space

Question:

I have a 2022 Winnebago 2327TB and have some clearance issues on the forward edge of the slide to install the brackets, due to refrigerator vent. Can I purchase just one set of brackets to see if I can get them mounted before I purchase the whole topper? My slide out is 133 3/4inch wide and extends out from the trailer wall 38 1/2. So I think I will need 139inch Topper Part #LCV000168328 is that correct? If I can find a way to attach the brackets. Thanks in advance for your help!

The newer brackets aren't currently sold separately but I've run into your situation a few times and have just placed the inner bracket on the t-molding instead of on the wall of the slide out. You'll want to get the lower holes in the bracket as close to the edge of the t-molding as possible so that the screws sit in the space between the slide out box and trailer wall. You'll also want to use some butyl tape on the backside of the inner brackets to prevent water from leaking in through the screw holes and it will also help stick them to molding while you're getting them screw in.

As for the size, you're right on the fringe so you could either go with the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000184673 and have little to no overhang or the # LCV000168328 and have roughly 2.5" of fabric overhang and another 2.5" (5" total) of overhang from the awning arms. I would verify that there's nothing that's going to interfere with the arms when the slide retracts back in and go with the larger awning.
