Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 without OEM Rail Kit
Question:
I want to buy my first fifth wheel. I have only ever had travel trailers so I have no idea about the hitch I need. Im comfortable going with the companion slider 20k that I see your experts have previously recommended for a similar truck here. My question is that the dealer also included that I should have the bandw 30K turnover ball. I have no idea what this is. Do I need it? Seems like this is something if you are converting to a gooseneck but Im so new to this I have no idea. If I dont need it, other than the slider hitch, is there anything else I need to buy? I will buy from you guys since no one can beat your price. So please just put together a list of everything I need for my truck.

Thanks for sending me the window sticker of your 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 but it doesn't look like you have the pucks for OEM hitch fits like what the Companion part # BWRVK3775 you referenced fits so you would need to go the route that was mentioned to you by the dealer. This requires the B and W Turnoverball Gooseneck part # BWGNRK1020 which also doubles as a rail kit for the Companion slider # BWRVK3400.
So while it does seem a little confusing since you need a "gooseneck hitch to use a fifth wheel hitch" this will give you the best setup around.
