Factors To Consider When Replacing Suspension Components On Your Trailer
Question:
I currently have this product on my fifth wheel tandem axle. Can I switch to the CRE3000 or Road Armor equalizers, or would that require other changes since the hole spacing appears to be different? A few other questions: Do I need regular or heavy duty shackles? old ones are ~3/8inch thick but Ive seen some that are thicker online. What length shackles? old ones are 3.13inch center hole to center hole. What length wet bolts? old ones are 2.325inch body.

If you swap from the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC279687 with a 5-1/2" distance between the left and right bolt holes to an equalizer with a different hole spacing then you'll also have to change the size of your shackle straps and leaf springs to accommodate the difference.
Your suspension needs to form a "W" so that it can properly move with the bumps in the road. Too far out or too far in towards the equalizer will make the suspension too stiff and can end up causing a bind and snapping the leaf springs. Getting into this territory becomes a bit of guessing game to find the right lengths so that the suspension still sits correctly so we always recommend sticking with the same sizes to avoid any issues.
Regular shackle straps will likely last you many years unless you're really hauling it around constantly or traveling on really rough roads but you can definitely upgrade to some heavy duty MORryde shackle straps so that they never need to be replaced. These shackle straps are only sold with the wet bolts as a kit so with your 3-1/8" hole spacing you'd need part # MR76ZR to get the correct bolts and shackles. I've attached a video below where I'll walk you through the installation process.
