Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier for a 2003 Toyota Camry with Low Ground Clearance

Question:

I my street to driveway transition is somewhat tricky because the roadway is angled down and meets a 15 degree driveway apron. The driveway quickly levels out. Do I need the gooseneck carrier or will a straight carrier work?

Expert Reply:

Because the ride height of your 2003 Camry is low and because of the angle of the road/driveway it would be best to use a trailer hitch mount cargo carrier that does have a rise in the shank such as # C18110. I do not recommend a straight-shank carrier for this vehicle and situation because it is much more likely to scrape the ground.

The Curt carrier # C18110 is a good choice because it offers a 3-3/4 inch rise in the shank. I have linked the installation details for you.
