EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver Class Rating For a 2008 Toyota Prius

Question:

Hi, this may be ridiculous, but Im looking at attaching a motorcycle carrier rack to my Prius: Ill be using it to carry an eBike that weighs 80lbs. That rack requires a 2inch Class III/IV hitch receiver. Im looking at this product on your site: # 306-X7196 Thats a 2inch but it doesnt say what class it is. Any help is appreciated.

The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7196 for your 2008 Toyota Prius doesn't use a traditional class rating system like other receivers since it does use a 2" receiver that does not carry the minimum weight capacities that would give it a class III rating. The best way to describe the receiver is a 2" receiver with a class II weight rating.

The maximum allowed tongue weight of the receiver is 300lbs and you will want to verify with your Toyota dealer as to the maximum weight ratings for your specific Prius. This will ensure that you are not exceeding your weight capabilities and are safe with hauling your E-bike on a Motorcycle Carrier # UF48-979033.

A Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118505 should be used as well to allow you to have Auxiliary Lights # C53201 behind your bikes. This is much safer than having your taillights blocked by the bike and carrier.
