Troubleshooting An 88 Error Code On A Furrion RV Fireplace
Question:
2020 Montana High Country 5th Wheel model 37.2 I have a Furrion Electric Fireplace model FF30SC15A it didn’t work correctly flashing colours so I had to troubleshoot it at trailer dealership maintenance they replaced the circuit board and I reinstalled unit and 2 minutes after replacement the fireplace is not functioning properly again with error code 88 I have read information online with different explanations but I’m asking you for a professional opinion

An 88 error code for your Furrion fireplace would indicate that the blower fan is overheating. This is typically caused by a build-up of dust inside the unit and can be fixed by first removing the unit from the wall. Once removed you can blow out the air vents on the top, sides, and back with a can of compressed air. If it's not dusty then I recommend checking the power at the unit with a multimeter # PT89ZR to ensure that it's getting a full 12 volts to properly function. If not then the lack of power could be causing the issue.
If the power is fine and the unit isn't clogged up with dust then the blower fan is the issue and would require reaching out to Furrion for further troubleshooting/replacement parts.
