If your fireplace cuts off or won't turn on it all there could be a few reasons why;

The first being that there isn't enough power running to the unit for it to properly operate. You'll want to use a multimeter # PT89ZR on the power wire at the unit to ensure it's getting a full 12 volts. If not then the power source could be the issue or you could be experiencing a voltage drop. Check the power at the power source, if it's 12v at the power source and a volt or more less at the unit then you have voltage drop and will need to increase the gauge of the wire running between the two.

You could also have a faulty or loose ground so you'll want to trace it and ensure that it's secure.

The next thing to do is blow out the vents on the back and sides of the unit with a can of compressed air. These vents can get clogged with dust and cause the unit to overheat.

If none of this solves the issue then you most likely have a faulty circuit/control board, which can be replaced but most manufacturers won't give you the replacement part and will end up requiring you to purchase a whole new fireplace # FF30SC15ABL.
