Do I Have to Trim to Install the etrailer Hitch e43ZR on a 2023 VW Tiguan?

I have a 2023 VW Tiguan. The standard model not the R-Line. If I install this hitch do I have to cut the trim?

No, you do not! The etrailer Hitch item # e43ZR does not require any cutting of the trim to install on the 2023 VW Tiguan. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your VW with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 525 lbs maximum tongue weight.
I really like this hitch because the crosstube mounts completely behind the rear bumper. This leaves only the 2" receiver exposed which not only looks better but helps with ground clearance.
I have linked both the installation instructions and a install video we did so you can see how to get this hitch set up.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # 119250KIT and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
I also recommend using the No-Drill Mount Bracket item # 18136 and the item # C42CR to secure the 4-way connector to your hitch. This will put it in an easy to reach spot and prevent the risk of it falling onto the road.
